Do you need to change your lifestyle if starting TRT (or Womens HRT?). You don't have to but you absolutely should. As the saying goes, you wouldnt put a roof on a house with a broom and you wouldnt sweep a floor with a hammer. If you are given a tool, use it appropriately and thats exactly what hormone optimization is, a valuable tool to acheive goals.

Can you swap between injections and topical applications of testosterone once you start?! Absolutely. Women can do this if using testosterone, estradiol and progesterone as well. The important thing is to pick what approach suits your lifestyle to reliably acheive the best results.

Feeling off in between injections, should I take another? Adding more doesnt really speed up the process (you didnt get here overnight). What about topicals? They are daily dosed so the downtime or peaks/valleys exist within the hour/day but are minimized. One thing is certain, TRT isnt permanent unless you want it to be. You can end up right back where you started if you feel its not for you (but this is very rare!).

Crossing the bridge is an analogy I use to describe some of the initial changes upon starting, notably water retention, emotional changes, etc. While estrogen is what we are looking at here note that these issues are temporary and expected!
