Seasonal depression? Not on our watch! We beat some winter weather blues by creating an interactive game of Whack-A-Mole for our residents! We busted out the foam pool noodles, stretched out a tarp with holes cut out, and let our activities team loose underneath!

Disclaimer: No moles...err.. employees were harmed, but a WHOLE lotta fun sure was had! 🦫✴️

We're planning some Friday Night Fun on Friday, March 13th! Join us for our first Paint Night Event, beginning at 6pm! For just $5, you get all you need: a canvas, paint, and refreshments!

Residents will be participating at no cost! Friends, family members, and guests of residents are encouraged to join in on the fun!

A heartfelt thanks to United Way of Washington County, Maryland! Their reputation for impacting and improving Washington County dates back decades, and their history of caring for our residents is also long-standing!

Their "Books United" program includes twice-monthly visits from longtime volunteer Stacey Abeles, who spends about an hour reading and interacting with the residents! For so many, it's become a regular highlight, and the bonds that Stacey has formed with our residents are so meaningful!

United Way of Washington County also supplies large-print books and books on CD to our residents on a regular basis. They've also purchased multiple CD players to allow them to listen to these audiobooks in the comfort of their own rooms!

This month, visits included some reminiscing about Valentine’s Day from past eras, some fun Valentine’s trivia, educational tidbits about owls, and even some furry guests!

Some good news to share! We are experiencing a decrease in respiratory illness rates and the end of related outbreaks. We do still have surgical masks available at our front desk, however mask recommendations are no longer a part of our visitor check-in process!

Of course, we have hand sanitizer available throughout our facility, and guests, employees, and residents alike are encouraged to practice safe hygiene to avoid the spread of germs.
