With more than 95% of a80rtions* being elective, more than 95% of a80rtions happen because the fears some mothers carry just yell too loudly. Circumstances and self-worth can tell an a80rtion-minded mother all the reasons she can't have her baby.

Because every woman has her own story, circumstances and concerns, it's important that we take time to listen to every single one.

Our HAPC staff works diligently to offer no-cost pregnancy tests, limited ultrasound, resources, counseling and follow-up support with excellence and care to help mothers live in confidence instead of fear!

Where we don't have all of the solutions to all of the fears our clients may have, we pray for God to continue his redeeming work where we can't reach.

To the generous people in our community who sew, knit, crochet or quilt-- we would welcome your donations of new baby-sized blankets! πŸͺ‘🧡 These baby blankets are gifted to our clients during an ultrasound appointment showing a viable pregnancy, and are often the first baby gift our expecting mothers receive.

If you would like to make baby-sized blankets for our expecting mothers, please make them gender neutral (not specific to boy or girl), as a majority of our clients do not yet know the gender of their baby when they receive their blanket. Blankets can be quilted, knitted or crocheted!

All baby blanket donations can be dropped off to our office during regular hours of operation, M/W 9am-5pm and T/Th 8am-4pm. Thank you!!

1,037,000.

That would fill more than the equivalent of 22 Camden Yards stadiums at maximum capacity, all seats filled.

Since Roe v Wade in 1973, millions of real human lives have been purposely and prematurely ended. They were not only real human lives, but they also represent voids carved in each generation.

Even still... consider this: the 1,037,000 a80rtions reported DO NOT INCLUDE the data from the most heavily populated (and liberal) states like California, Maryland, New Hampshire and Washington D.C.

The Charlotte Lozier Institute estimates that if just California and Maryland a80rtion data were included, the total would increase by 30% or 311,100 estimated additional a80rtions. That would bring the total to an estimated 1,348,100 a80rtions.

They're not just a number. They were each a real human life.

We seem to only hear stories about the complaints or negative sides of fatherhood, but be encouraged that fathers are as important today as ever.

Based on a 2023 study reported by Pew Research, more young men than women ages 18-34 who do not have children say they want children one day. In the survey, 57% of young men indicated said they DO want children some day, while 45% of young women said the same.

In a world that's pandering to your comfort, we are thankful for the men and women who DO value human life and will pursue all of the hard and beautiful things of parenthood!!

Follow ups are one way we care for our clients after their initial ultrasound appointment with us at the Pregnancy Clinic.

Follow ups are often a text message to check-in, and sometimes we receive encouraging texts like these from clients. They really do bring us joy!

He was adamant that they were keeping their baby. A80rtion was off the table.

Why?

They had reasons to consider a80rtion– they were unmarried. He didn’t have a job. She was a young adult but still afraid to tell her parents.

They were even living out west together, far from their families. No one would even have to know.

It also wasn’t necessarily about religious beliefs or being a conservative pro-lifer.

Honestly, it came down to heritage. To family bloodline and legacy. Call it being an old school Italian, but there was no way he would allow a child in his lineage to be erased or eliminated.

They had talked about marriage but now what? She did NOT want him to marry her only out of obligation to the baby and pregnancy.

It wasn’t perfect circumstances but he for real, for real wanted to marry her. He didn’t have all the answers but he was steadfast. He wasn’t yet a Christian but believed that if he made good and right choices, God would provide for them.

And God did provide for them.

He got a job. He worked hard.

They told their families. Even though there were some tough conversations and feelings about it, they persevered with their pregnancy.

They got married and had their baby. He worked and provided for his family, just as he was determined to do.

They had three sons and were married for more than 40 years.

They'd be the first to say that every day wasn't sunshine and roses but choosing life for their son and the hard work invested in their family was never something they regretted.

A decision for life will change everything.

πŸ‘† Some will read that and read that and only negative thoughts come to mind.

This major life change can feel scary and impossible, but at here the HAPC, we are here to provide women with information personalized to help their specific circumstances through pregnancy verification, counseling and real resources.

Yes, loss of sleep and time all to yourself in the early months is a normal part of parenthood.

But you'll also gain a part of yourself you would never know apart from your little one.

You become a better multi-tasker;more resourceful; a coffee-loving, power napping, diaper-changing pro. You become a day-care and work schedule strategist and are the best at prioritizing the well-being of your whole family.

You experience an unconditional love you never knew you had-- love for this completely dependent little one who just showed up one day. And the only thing he knows yet is the love of his mother.

✨ Choosing life changes not only the future of your baby but changes YOU in the best ways. ✨

We're rounding out the week exposing lies women are told when experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.

πŸ›‘ LIE #4- "You won't be able to financially afford having a baby."

βœ… TRUTH - With a majority of unexpected pregnancies resulting in single mothers raising their child, we are familiar with the challenge for them to both work and establish reliable childcare. Voices will say that it's impossible to afford daycare, diapers and formula, but the truth is there are MANY resources and programs to assist with things like daycare, diapers and formula.

At the HAPC, we provide caring, nonjudgemental support for mothers after their pregnancy confirmations and walk with mothers to find and establish the support they need. Resources and support are part of the effort it takes to empower women to choose LIFE!

We're talking about it-- lies women are told when experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.

πŸ›‘ LIE #3- It's better for a baby to not be born than for the baby to be born into difficult circumstances.

βœ… TRUTH - If every person known to be born into poverty or experience terrible life circumstances was terminated, the world would never have known people like Celine Dion, Tim Tebow, Nick Cannon, Steve Jobs and Justin Bieber. Negative circumstances do not define a person or the meaningfulness of his or her life!

A80rtion is also a terrible experience for babies in the womb, with all a80rtions after 10 weeks gestation being surgical and involving dismemberment of the baby in utero. It's difficult to argue that dismemberment is better for the baby (who is a unique person, just very early in development) than being born.

Let's talk about it this week... there are lies women are told when experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.

πŸ›‘ LIE #2 - A80rtion is healthcare.

βœ… TRUTH - True healthcare is needed when something goes wrong in the body, such as broken bones, cancer, or infection that attacks the body. Pregnancy and a baby in the womb is not an infectious or cancerous attack on the body and is therefore not a "disease" that needs corrected.

Children in the womb are their own persons with their own unique DNA and fingerprints, deserving of the same opportunity of LIFE that everyone else walking this earth was offered.

If you wouldn't accept chemo or radiation when you don't have cancer, why are we accepting a80rtion as medically necessary?

Let's talk about it this week... there are lies women are told when experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.

πŸ›‘ LIE #1 - Having a baby will prevent you from having a successful career, or it's impossible to be both mom and a working professional.

βœ… TRUTH - Being a mother and working professional has it's challenges, no doubt, BUT don't let someone tell you it's impossible! Even though college classes may be put on pause or a maternity leave may be necessary in order to care for your new baby and yourself, the season WILL come when you know it's time to return to your studies or a job you enjoy.

We believe every woman has the ability and should be provided the resources to empower her decision to choose life!
