New gardening help is getting stuff done. Mango tree leaves have been taken for mulch on another property. And the false koa are coming out. Yay! One hour and already a huge impact. Thanks Rala!

Marked safe from the Kona storm last night. A lightning strike on the property followed by frightening life-threatening phone alerts got our attention. It did pour down rain, the parking lot was saturated and we lost power for several hours earlier yesterday. Fortunately, no severe damage occurred. And the power remained on all night! Debris from the incident includes a tree branch from the neighbor's driveway, coconuts, a banana tree, and numerous palm fronds. We got this!

We had the honor of hosting the past few weeks. He has made a lasting impact on this place. With new eyes and vision. And some much needed hands in the garden, we loved seeing through his eyes. He left us with many new tools and started a new flower garden where there was only cane grass before. He had us visiting places we might not have, The Ulu festival was a highlight. We learned about the you collective and how to prune our mature tree. Thank you George! Come back soon.

The cane grass had gotten a little out of hand along the sidewalk in front of the Doctor’s House but knows the way. I got the morning. Scoreboard: Cane Grass 0 , George 50!!! I’ve been trained in cane grass removal - loving this new skill set. Looking forward to a winning streak. O:50 with George as a one man team during this full moon is impressive. 🥰😍

This old mango tree is going off, one of the oldest and largest in upcountry still producing a local golden mango variety. Summer time vibes here while the children are out of school is a time of social activities and sleepovers with no regular schedule and lots of catching up on deferred maintenance before the rainy season returns. This weekend we cleared out the storage room to make the pottery kiln accessible and re-roofed the classroom again. May the water not find its way in this time.

You know that moment when you realize your new Dyson vacuum just picked up a canister full of dust from your floors and you didn’t even think they were dirty? Me, just now. Loving the decision to trade a cordless stick Dyson for the full size corded model. Much deeper clean! And Louie thinks we got him a new toy to play games - chase and growl at the vacuum.

Today the propane tank went empty unexpectedly and now we’re getting a new tank. It had a small leak! Just in time for a three day weekend. I had visions of cold showers through Memorial Day. Good thing I followed up on the homeowner insurance renewal that expired yesterday. Could been a whole scene - gas tank explodes, house insurance lapses. OMG! That’s not my story. 😅
