This Capricorn New Moon arrives as a sacred threshold—marking the final lunar beginning of the Year of the Snake and inviting us into deep integration, discernment, and embodied wisdom.

🎆Finally! Our New Year’s Retreat Reflections! As we crossed the threshold into the New Year, we were blessed to gather with souls who traveled from near and far—Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and our neighboring island of Oʻahu—each arriving with their own intentions, stories, and longings.

This gathering marked something truly special: our 10th Annual New Year’s 7-Day Mystical Alchemy Retreat—a once-a-year initiation into the year ahead.

Four Capricorns anchored the circle—builders, wisdom-keepers, steady hearts—
setting the tone for a year rooted in embodiment, integrity, and real change.

Across seven days of ritual, sound, movement, rest, spa time, dance, fire circles, waterfall pilgrimages, and deep presence, something subtle yet profound unfolded.
Nervous systems softened. Breath deepened. Gratitude arose naturally.

One reflection from a returning Oʻahu guest captured it beautifully:

Melkam Gena ✨ Merry Christmas
to our Ethiopian brothers and sisters celebrating today, January 7.

These photos are from our 2019 pilgrimage to Axum, the sacred heartland of Ethiopian Christianity. While there, we visited the Church of St. Mary of Zion, rebuilt under Emperor Haile Selassie, where Ethiopian tradition holds that the Ark of the Covenant is kept—guarded by a devoted monk whose life is dedicated to its protection.

Just nearby, we also visited a sacred cave site associated with Balthazar, one of the Three Magi. In Ethiopian tradition, this cave is honored not as a tomb, but as a place of prayer, retreat, and spiritual presence—an initiatory space where wisdom and revelation are anchored into the land.

Yesterday, during our Epiphany Reiki & Sound Healing Circle, I shared that I would offer these images as part of our continued remembering, so those who joined us could more fully feel the land and lineage we were honoring.

In Ethiopia, the current year is 2018, not 2026. Ethiopians follow the Julian calendar, which runs about 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar, and calculate the birth of Jesus 7–8 years earlier—so Christmas is celebrated today rather than December 25.

Christmas in Ethiopia is a public holiday, marked by devotion, community, and deep continuity with ancient tradition.

May the light of this holy day bless all who are celebrating.

Our hearts are full after a truly beautiful Winter Solstice Sacred Sound & Cacao Ceremony.
A full house, glowing faces, and so many reflections shared about how moving, tender, and powerful the evening was. 🤍

On Mother’s Night, the ancient threshold of the Solstice, we gathered to honor the Great Mother and the fertile darkness that births the returning Light. The resonance was deep and tender.
The sound, the stillness, the warmth of community… all weaving together in a way that reminded us why ceremony matters.
