If you believe Medicare should cover medically necessary nutrition visits for issues like malnutrition, prediabetes, celiac disease, and other common conditions, please consider supporting this bill.
Right now, Medicare only covers nutrition visits for diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Expanding this would not only save money over time — it would truly help people feel better, stay healthier, and maintain their quality of life.
After working in hospitals, rehab, primary care, and now private practice, I can tell you that good nutrition guidance makes a real difference for people.

🏦 Passage of the Medical Nutrition Therapy Act, reintroduced today in the U.S. House of Representatives by Reps. Robin Kelly (Ill.) and Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (Va.), is an effective solution to address the costly, continued rise of diet-related chronic diseases in America – many of which can be remedied with MNT delivered by a registered dietitian nutritionist.
📜 The Academy is a proud champion of this bill and is joined by more than 60 health organizations in urging lawmakers to reintroduce the MNT Act in the U.S. Senate and for the bill’s swift passage.
