✨ INTRODUCTION POST – Holistic Healing Massage Russellville

My name is Adrian Jack Barnes, but you can call me A.J.

I’m the practitioner behind Holistic Healing Massage here in Russellville, Alabama, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community.

I’m originally from rural eastern Franklin County and graduated from Phil Campbell High School in 2011. My journey into healthcare didn’t happen overnight—it was built through years of searching, learning, and listening to where I felt called to serve.

I began my college journey at Northwest Shoals, initially pursuing veterinary medicine. Over time, that path shifted, and during a season of working and reflecting, I found myself drawn to something deeper—hands-on healing.

That calling led me to the Northwest Alabama School of Massage & Bodywork, where everything started to click.

I continued my education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Alabama, and later pursued chiropractic studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida. While that journey is still part of my future, I realized something powerful along the way:

My story with massage actually started when I was around five years old.

I dealt with intense foot pain from growth plate issues, and my mom would massage my feet to help me find relief. Over time, I began doing the same for her.

Looking back… that was the beginning of everything.

• and move toward healing naturally
