In a World Shaken, God Remains Unshaken

Today’s headlines are filled with war, division, rising prices, moral confusion, and uncertainty about the future. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged watching the chaos unfold. But God’s Word reminds us that while the world may change, He never does.

> “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way…” — Psalm 46:1–2

Governments rise and fall, economies shift, and nations quarrel. But the Kingdom of God is unshakable. Jesus said:

> “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

The Bible doesn't ignore hard times — it acknowledges them. Yet over and over, it offers hope: that those who trust in the Lord will not be put to shame (Romans 10:11), that He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and that He works all things — even bad headlines — for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

So today, no matter what the news says, remember this:
The world may shake, but your faith doesn’t have to. God is still on the throne. His promises are still true. And His love for you has not changed.

> “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne.” — Psalm 11:3–4

Stay grounded. Stay hopeful. And let your light shine

Devotion: The Seed and the Soil

Scripture Focus:
"But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it."
— Matthew 13:23 (NIV)

---

When you hear the Word of God, a seed is planted in your heart. But the fruit that grows from that seed depends on the condition of the soil—your heart. Jesus spoke of this in the Parable of the Sower. Some seeds fall on rocky ground and wither because they have no root. Others fall on good soil, take root, and flourish. The choice of what kind of soil you are is yours.

The Word of God should be desired like a newborn desires milk. It gives us life, strength, and growth.

> “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”
— 1 Peter 2:2

As we read more of the Bible, we learn about God’s overwhelming grace and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Though we are all sinners, tempted daily by the desires of the flesh, God offers us a path to righteousness.

> “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23
“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
— Galatians 5:16

Jesus not only died for our sins—He now lives and intercedes for us before the Father.

> “Christ Jesus who died... is also interceding for us.”
— Romans 8:34

To stand strong against the temptations and wickedness of this world, we must put on the full armor of God.

> “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
— Ephesians 6:11

He is our refuge, our strength, and our safe place.

> “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1

Stay connected to God—pray without ceasing, keep your relationship with Him personal and alive. Don’t settle for surface understanding; dig deep into the meat of His Word.

> “Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
— Hebrews 5:14

Know this: God has a unique purpose and plan for your life.

> “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord...
— Jeremiah 29:11

He calls us to live selflessly—to love others more than ourselves.

> “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
— Matthew 22:39

Though God could have made us obey, He gave us free will—because real love must be a choice. He wants us to choose Him freely, to say with our hearts: “I want to love You, Lord.”

> “Choose this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
— Joshua 24:15
“We love because He first loved us.”
— 1 John 4:19

---

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, soften my heart and make it good soil for Your Word. Help me crave Your truth, stand firm in faith, and grow deeper in love with You every day. Teach me to love others as You love me, and let me choose You in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humbled hearts, full of gratitude for the brave men and women who laid down their lives so that we might live in freedom. We thank You for their courage, for their selfless service, and for the love that compelled them to defend others, even at the greatest cost.

Lord, we lift up the families of the fallen—those who carry the weight of loss every day. Comfort them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Let them feel Your presence near, and remind them that their loved ones did not die in vain.

Help us, Father, to honor their legacy not only with our words, but with our lives. Teach us to be good stewards of the freedom they secured, and to be faithful in upholding the values this nation was founded upon—truth, justice, and liberty for all.

May we never take for granted the blessings You’ve given us. And may we always remember that true freedom is found in You, the One who gave His Son for the salvation of all.

Bless our nation, guide our leaders, and protect those who still stand in harm’s way today.

In the mighyy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray,
AMEN

Good morning,

Today, we gather not just as citizens, but as stewards of memory—here to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this nation. On this sacred day, we pause our busy lives to remember those who never came home, whose sacrifice made it possible for us to stand here in peace and freedom.

These heroes were sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands, wives, and friends. They came from every corner of our country, from every walk of life. And yet they shared a common purpose: to protect and defend the freedoms we cherish. They stood for something greater than themselves—and in doing so, they gave everything.

Let us not allow their sacrifice to fade into the background of our comfort. Let us remember that every right we exercise, every freedom we enjoy, was purchased at a cost. A cost borne by those who put on the uniform and said, "Send me."

Today, we also recognize the families who live with the absence—the empty chair at the table, the silent phone that once rang with laughter and love. To them, we say: your sacrifice does not go unnoticed. Your loved ones are remembered—not just today, but always.

As we lay wreaths, fly flags, and speak names aloud, may we commit ourselves to living lives worthy of their sacrifice. May we walk with purpose, speak with gratitude, and remember with reverence.

This Memorial Day, let us not simply mourn the fallen—let us honor them by the way we live. Because they gave us that gift. And it is up to us to protect it.

May God bless our fallen heroes. May God comfort their families. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.

Thank you.

Breaking Free Evanelical Addiction Recovery Ministries

This page is what started it all. The outreach, the church, and the addiction/recovery groups. I started this page while I was in treatment and taking classes in substance abuse and chemical dependencies, my goal was to take what i was learning and help others suffering from the same disease. What the page did was bring some lost souls and some astray sheep into our Father fold. What I had not known at the time was this page was doing as much if not more for me then I could have ever imagined.

We are a non-profit substance abuse recovery ministry changing the way people view addiction and the addict themselves. Bringing a Christ centered 12 step program with comprehensive studies on addiction, why addicts are addicts, the physical and emotional aspects, and how to break the cycle with retraining the brain and helping the addict with education, job skills, self esteem, self worth, and rebuilding connections to self, relationships, church, and community.
