The training never stops at CPHM!

This evening, one of our esteemed alumni, Jesse Young, presented an in-depth cardiology lecture to our providers. Jesse is a former CPHM paramedic, now a cardiothoracic PA at Ellis Hospital. We are grateful to have him.

We are excited to share that our ambulances are now equipped with Carter Kits™ Sensory Bags. This bag is a specialized tool designed to help children with autism and other sensory needs feel calmer during emergencies.

Emergency scenes can be loud, bright, and overwhelming. These kits include items like noise-reducing headphones, sensory supports, and comfort tools like weighted blankets that help our providers reduce stress and create a more reassuring environment for pediatric patients.

At CPHM, we are committed to caring for every need of our patients. Adding Carter Kits to our units ensures that every child we serve feels supported, understood, and cared for. We are proud to be able to provide this support to the community on future calls!

It always nice when we can take the time to celebrate one another, even during a busy day. We were able to spend Frank’s birthday sharing cake between calls! Happy birthday, Frank!🥳

The care we provide to the community extends past only our human neighbors. Today a bird was found outside the station who needed help in the cold weather. Our staff named him Rupert and nursed him back to health before returning him to nature. So proud of our amazing and compassionate providers!❄️🐦‍⬛

🎗️ World Cancer Day | February 4 🎗️

World Cancer Day is about more than awareness. It’s about prevention, early detection, equitable access to care, and standing together in support of everyone affected by cancer.

It’s also a reminder to us that our values of integrity, compassion, respect, innovation, and safety guide the way we care for patients, support families, and strengthen our communities.

Today, we stand in unity with patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones, committed to compassionate care and a future where quality cancer care is accessible to all. 💜

We just received a new teaching tool for our staff and the public. This anti-choking training device uses an air pocket inside a wearable vest for the opporunity to get real-world practice on another person. The air pocket can be filled with foam pieces to simulate chocking and a successful Heimlich Maneuver when the foam is dislodged. We are very excited to use this new device. Keep a lookout for it at future outreach and training events!
