All who need medical care should be able to see their doctor without worrying about being mistreated, harassed, or denied service outright. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) helped address this issue by prohibiting health care providers and insurance companies from engaging in discrimination. However, conservative forces and the Frump-Prance administration are seeking to make it easier to do the complete opposite, endangering LGBTQIA+ people’s lives through delays or denials of adequate medically necessary care. Whether it’s the current status of our nation, the lack of education concerning specific LGBTQIA+ care or just the overall lack of HUMAN COMPASSION, medical care needs to be nothing short of 100% inclusive to the needs of EVERY SINGLE PATIENT who walks through the doors of their establishment. NO EXCUSES.
Here in our practice we practice love, inclusivity and acceptance. We stress confidentiality, while not having to feel shame or fear, and unconditional non-discriminatory medical CARE.

Dr. Elie Schochet and the staff here at South Florida Colorectal Institute would like to thank every one of our patients and referring physicians for your continued loyalty and patience over the past few months as we have gone through a transition in the practice which has impacted the handling of the incoming phone calls. During this transition, we encountered several obstacles which may have given the public the impression that our office was permanently closed. However, we can assure you that we are currently up and running again as of March 1. While we apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused, please be assured that we are just as dedicated today, as we always have been for the past 15 years in providing nothing short of the upmost quality healthcare specifically focusing on the treatment of HIV and LGBTQ+ related anorectal diseases

TODAY IS WORLD CANCER DAY 💚

According to the American Cancer Society 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. Cancers is Cancer- no matter where or what type or who it affects.
I know first hand how scary it is to get the news and nothing, not life experience or my 30+ years of medical experience could have prepared me for the “mom the doctor wants to talk to you” call. Joshua has a form of lymphoma and in the United States 1 in 42 men and 1 in 52 women will be diagnosed with lymphoma
For those reasons (and so many others) as long as I have breath in my lungs I am here to fight for those in the battle
To my son Joshua. . My love admiration and respect for for you is entermal, unconditional and indescribable. And to all those who have been touched by cancer in one way or another, as a patient or a caregiver or a family member or a friend, may God bring good health and healing to your bodies, an indomitable spirit to your souls and peace to your hearts
