Animal Hospital of Hallandale is a full-service animal hospital with the latest state of the art equipment (including laser surgery, ultra sounds and ct scan equipment on site!) whose mission is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care. Dr. Javier Cepeda and Dr. Joe Barbosa are known for fast, accurate diagnoses and being a caring veterinarians. All friendly staff have performed 1000+ surgeries (excluding spays and neuters). Dr. Joe Barbosa and Dr. Javier Cepeda have 25 years of experience in serving the Hallandale community, just minutes away from Aventura, Sunny Isles, Dania Beach, and Hollywood. Animal Hospital of Hallandale offers international pet health certificates, pet boarding, pet bathing, orthopedic surgeries (knee/patella surgeries), medical, surgical, dental veterinary care, pet dental cleaning, pet laser surgery and pain, pet vaccine packages, and in-house pharmacy. Our Story

We pamper pets - We are your family vet !

Dr. Joe Barbosa is a veterinarian who acquired the Animal Hospital of Hallandale in 1993 from Dr. Ward.

Dr. Barbosa received his veterinary degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1980. In 1987, he took the intensive post-graduate course in Clinical Veterinary Medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 1990 he became licensed to practice in the state of Florida.

Through the years, as a general practitioner, Dr. Barbosa has attended hundreds of continuing education courses and seminars including advanced dentistry, laser surgery, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. He speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He and his staff welcome new and current clients with a friendly smile and excellent service (in 6 different languages) and look forward to serving your pet's health care needs.
