I scanned Pill Bug this year (and last year). I can't remember how far along in her gestation she was when I did the ultrasound this year, but I believe I called twins. Let's see if I'm right! :)

Some of the awesome teamwork from yesterday at Shady Grove Ranch captured in this photo!! Very glad Ryan was home from oil field work to lend a hand. He helped move cattle from the holding area to the pasture, and held my ultrasound laptop for me. We all ended the day a little dirty and a lot happy :)

My job was bookkeeping and tail holding 🤣🤣 Hey, someone has to do it! Notice I am not wearing my glasses. I save my contact lenses for these very occasions. There's a good chance you're going to get splattered in the face with you-know-what. Tis a rather messy job....

Yesterday I had the pleasure of preg checking most of the beef cattle herd for Shady Grove Ranch in Jefferson, TX! The teamwork was excellent and the whole day was such an enjoyable experience!! Thank you for having me out, and cheers for a happy, healthy calving season!! 🐂🥩

Such a fun day yesterday! Preg checked 45ish head of Black Angus. Caught quite a few 30 dayers. One of which was extra exciting because it was twins!! In my excitement, I didn't save the image or take a pic of the screen, so here is a doctored photo from the internet lol The gray blob and the white blob are supposed to represent what the twin pregnancy looked like. I'm going to go back in a month or so to see if they are both still there or if one reabsorbed. Will also attempt gender confirmation, just for fun :)

Yesterday I got to meet this little sweety!

She was in with a bull through January, and her new owners brought her home in February. She was presumed to be bred, but after palpation, it was determined she is open.

I hate giving that news because I feel like I'm disappointing owners, but there is a silver-lining!

The owners now know how to proceed from here. They can make the best choice for their farm. Whether that be cycle syncing this cow and their other cows for AI, letting them all naturally go into heat to AI, or put a bull in with them. The owners can make an informed decision for their herd, and that's what's most important. :)
