Her name is Jasmine. I didn’t know her but I want to remember her.

Jasmine was murdered on February 24, 2022 on Bissonnet.

She may have been out there so she could take care of her children, save for school, or maybe it was all she knew. Whether she was renegade or under instruction, it doesn’t matter. She was intentionally run over by a car, then beaten, and left on the side of the road like trash. She didn’t deserve it.

Her name is Jasmine.

Her story barely made the local news. The community isn’t storming Bissonnet demanding answers. Instead, she will just be another murdered black woman. A casualty of the “life”.

But her name is Jasmine. And I want to remember her.

My prayers go out to her family.
