Saturday January 10 is a weird wild day. The moon is void of course after 1 pm EST for 17 hours (yes, Go Bills). It’s a time for rest, flow, creativity and surrender.

But also, the pile up of Capricorn energy we have had this week will be having a burst of energy from Jupiter all day.

Jupiter makes things bigger. This energy has been a lot already in its own right.

There is also a T square with the moon for part of this time. Tension, emotions run high, or maybe a time to make peace with whatever has arisen this week. Taking the things you learned about your values and your passions and making them concrete. The things you won’t let go of until they become true.

This will feel different for everyone. My comment is to be aware today is not a day to plow forward. It might be the integration and planning day. Or maybe you just make something creative today.

A glorious moment when the planet Venus aligns with the Sun so closely we say it gets the royal treatment for the day.

This happens as part of the natural cycle of Venus and was last in this condition March 22 2025 in Aries. ♈️

You might reflect and see what was going on for you back then. Today could be a part of that cycle.

The first full moon of 2026 lands in the sign of Cancer, inviting themes around self care and nurture.

There is an obvious stare down with a whole pile of Capricorn energy in this full moon. And currently, everything in Capricorn is having a moment about endings and cycles and wrapping up loose ends.

The moon in Cancer wants to stay home, make a big pot of soup and invite all their favorites over to have soup with them in the glow of the fireplace.

The Capricorn bits might suggest the self care looks a little different this time around.

➡️ Enough knowing what you want and waiting for the right time. Let’s figure this stuff out. (The moon, Mercury, Venus & Mars are all currently out of bounds. This just means they are a little bit of a wildcard energy right now.) ⚡️

We might have an awareness of what (and who) is most important to us right now and figure all of that into our long range plans.

We may also find ourselves reassessing our relationships, our money, our values and what we are passionate about.

This was a funny thing. I don’t always pull or vibe with my tarot cards but today I pulled the king of swords.

This always makes me think: tell it like it is; say what you need to say. Who cares if no one likes it? You know what you want and need. Say it.

Then I pull a random card from a second deck

This is from Kim Krans animal spirit deck. A lovely deck for sure.

The black egg represents the throat chakra. Again, say it. Speak from your authentic voice. Say the truth.

Doh. Same story, different deck.

Also I still can’t really talk because I’ve been sick. So my throat chakra is certainly on blast.

For New Year’s Day the universe throws us a bone by sliding Mercury into Capricorn! ♑️

This is the Sam the Eagle placement for Mercury. Tough, smart, practical. I love it for those of us who run a little scattered (🙋🏻‍♀️). My natal Mercury is in Pisces so I relish moments like this. I love my earth energy influences!

This is excellent energy for making a year ahead plan, with realistic and logical boundaries and frameworks. It’s a moment to reassess what’s working and what is not.

The moon will be in Gemini all day too so it’s a great moment to ask yourself questions. (Gemini loves questions.)

How do I achieve X while still doing Y?
Do I need to let go of X?
How do I show up as my very best most awesome self?

It’s a great way to start the year.
