Greek Mythology:
The Olympians are the twelve main gods and goddesses of the Greek pantheon who resided on Mount Olympus. The most common list includes Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Hestia or Dionysus.
Zeus: King of the gods, god of the sky, lightning, and thunder.
Hera: Queen of the gods, goddess of marriage and family.
Poseidon: God of the sea, earthquakes, and horses.
Demeter: Goddess of agriculture and grain.
Athena: Goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare, and crafts.
Apollo: God of the sun, light, medicine, and music.
Artemis: Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, and the moon.
Ares: God of war.
Aphrodite: Goddess of love, romance, and beauty.
Hephaestus: God of fire, metalworking, and blacksmiths.
Hermes: Messenger of the gods, god of travel, trade, and thieves.
Hestia or Dionysus: Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, while Dionysus is the god of wine and festivity. In some traditions, Hestia gives up her seat to Dionysus to become a full Olympian.
