In case you missed it, I am the new editorial cartoonist for the East Aurora Advertiser, an outstanding small paper here in Western New York.

My inaugural panel, "Trickle Down," tries to convey a pretty overlooked side effect of the Dodge debacle. East Aurora, whose tree-lined streets and charming Main Street are ripped from a Hallmark script writer's daydreams, is fairly dependent on government contractors such as Moog.

So, sometime last summer I began developing bad upper back pain which led to partial paralysis of my right arm. I've had surgery, and am on the mend, but the nerve damage could take a year or more to heal. The paralysis makes drawing and carving impossible. So, my creativity has led me back to writing, a passion I gave up over 20 years ago to pursue printmaking Today, I completed my first fiction project since 2002, and my first novel. I don't know if it will, go anywhere, but I promise I'll eventually put it out for view. Until then, LOTS of rewrites and revision. Just wanted to check in. Not expecting to have much in the fair this year, but I encourage everyone to get out there and support the artists in the Creative Arts Competition!

An incredible ride. Thank you to the Erie County Fair for my best 6 Months of Summer. It was exciting to see how much work goes on there year round. Bravo to everyone: maintenance, groundskeepers, building superintendents and office staff. Such a great experience. Posters and shirts still available at the gift tent.
