Good morning everyone. We hope everyone stayed safe during last night's weather. In the interest of safety, Valley Vision Care will be opening at 11 am this morning to allow time for the road crews to clear roads and the maintenance department to get the parking lot cleared as best as possible. If you have an appointment scheduled this morning between 9 and 11, you will be receiving a phone call very shortly to adjust your time. Sorry for the inconvenience. Stay safe everyone.

Anyone who has internet access has probably seen this and I felt this warranted a post. There is a recall for one lot number of Systane Ultra PF artificial tears. If you have the following information on your box:

Lot 10101.
UPC 300651432060.
NDC 0065-1432-06.
Expiration date – September 2025.

Again, this recall only applies to this specific lot number and this specific Systane product, which is the Ultra PF in the single serve ampules. As of the date of this post, there are no issues with other Systane products or any other brands of artificial tears. Instructions on what to do if you have this particular in your medicine cabinet are included in the article. If you are using a different product, all is well and you can continue with that product.

Check your medicine cabinets: A brand of eye drops sold nationally has been recalled due to the presence of fungus, which may cause vision damage.

As many of you know, I am not a very political person. But the profession I'm in and the procedures I am allowed to perform on my patients is legislated by the state of New Jersey. There is currently a bill in the state legislature which would expand the scope of what ours and many OD offices would be allowed to perform in the state. It could save extra visits and delays in getting these procedures performed. While I am very fortunate to work with great local ophthalmology groups, there is currently only 2 in Sussex county and thus their offices are extremely busy and this sometimes makes it difficult to get appointments for some of these minor procedures, creating delays in a patient's care. NJ Bill A-920/S-354 will modernize the current Optometry statute and allow for more of these procedures to be performed in more offices which will aid in the access to care for these services. Good morning. While I'm happy to report that we have power to the office, we do not yet have all of our phones online. We are able to get one of them working so there is one person on it, we won't have more until they resolve our internet issue. If you call the office and you get voicemail, please leave a message and we will call or message you back. Sorry for the continued issues.

Our office continues to be without power. The power company has changed their estimate of when power will be restored. Because of this, we are forced to close the office for the rest of the day Monday, October 14th. Anyone with an appointment should have received a phone call from the office. We apologize for the inconvenience. Hoping to see everyone tomorrow when the lights are back on.

Good afternoon. About 5 minutes ago, our office lost power. We have been informed that it should be restored later this afternoon. However we were not given an exact time. It is a wonderful feeling to know that the service and product you provide will have a huge impact on someone's life. Valley Vision Care strives to provide the highest level of service and elite products for our patient's vision and well-being. We are looking for someone who has this passion as well. Duties would include direct interaction with patients in person as well as on the phone, along with assisting patients on the selection of eyeglasses, insuring all the patient's needs are met by the product we provide. Additional responsibilities would include meeting with optical vendors and frame board management. Previous sales experience a plus. Additional props to that candidate with a flair for conversation and a sense for details. We are a very close-knit office with a desire to make our patients feel like family.
