Good morning! We are NOW licensed in Utah! Did you know:

Utah is facing a significant mental health crisis, with growing concerns about access to care, rising su***de rates, and the impact of mental health issues on youth. Here are some key factors contributing to the crisis:

High Su***de Rates: Utah consistently has one of the highest su***de rates in the nation. Su***de is a leading cause of death for residents, especially among young people. In 2022, Utah's su***de rate was 22.1 per 100,000 people, compared to the national average of 14.0 per 100,000.

Youth Mental Health: Utah has seen an alarming rise in mental health issues among adolescents. The stateโ€™s high rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts among teens have been exacerbated by factors like social media, school pressures, and family dynamics. Reports have shown that more than 30% of Utah high school students reported feeling sad or hopeless.

Access to Care: While Utah has made efforts to address the mental health crisis, there are still barriers to adequate mental health care. A shortage of mental health professionals, especially in rural areas, limits access to treatment. Additionally, long wait times for services and high costs make it difficult for many residents to get the help they need.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health: There is a strong correlation between mental health issues and substance abuse in Utah. Many individuals struggling with mental health challenges turn to substances like alcohol and opioids, which only exacerbate the problem.

Community and Family Stigma: Mental health issues are often stigmatized in certain communities in Utah, particularly among religious groups where there is a strong cultural emphasis on self-reliance. This can lead individuals to avoid seeking help or treatment until the situation becomes more dire.
