Kaiden Tremont Philips, of New Haven, CT., departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 27 th , 2025 Kaiden was born in New Haven, CT. on June 18 th , 2010 to Noele B. Evans and the late Tyrese T. Philips Jr. Kaiden was a current sophomore at Hill Regional Career High School.

Kaiden had a deep love for basketball, playing AAU with the New Haven Heat and eagerly anticipating his upcoming varsity season with the Career Panthers. Known for his sharp sense of style and playful spirit, he loved telling jokes, getting fly, and spending other people’s money. Recently employed through Youth@Work and placed at Upon This Rock Church, Kaiden proved himself to be a hardworking and dedicated young man. He also enjoyed the simple joys of life—playing his PlayStation 5, especially NBA 2K, spending time with his family and close friends, and traveling on vacations with loved ones. Kaiden enjoyed playing the drums and would play at times at the Holy Ghost Deliverance Church #2, where he was also a member. Kaiden had a love for God and even preached his “unofficial” sermon at just two years old. Kaiden’s favorite treats were Trolli gummy worms, seafood, and—above all—bacon, which he loved with a passion. He also enjoyed riding his scooter and simply being surrounded by the people who meant the most to him.

Kaiden leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Noele B. Evans; his brother, Titan Franklin; his sister, Kiary Bella Phillips; and his special sister, Toran Gamble. He is also remembered with love by his maternal grandparents, Corneil “Ci-Ci” Hill-Williams and Paul Evans; paternal grandparents, Crystal “Gi-Gi” Ketchum (Alexander); paternal great- grandmothers, Deborah “Ma-Ma” Jones and Sheila Tyson (Freddy); and his honorary grandfathers, William Antrum and Paul Hill. He will be forever cherished in the hearts of his loving aunts, Deja Antrum, Tajah Antrum, Denise Jones, and Tracey McCutchen-Hill; his special aunt, Taniqua Pellew; and his devoted uncles, Kevin Hill Sr. and Terrance Brown. Kaiden was also blessed with godparents Shanelle Morrison, Andrea Jenkins, Anthony Spencer, Nichole Carter, and Angela Keeton, whose guidance and support enriched his life. Along with many other aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends, their love and guidance were a constant source of strength throughout his life. He shared an unbreakable bond with his two best friends, Mighty Joyner and Carmello Moore, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Kaiden was predeceased by his father, Tyrese T. Philips Jr.; his maternal great-grandparents, Estella Hill and Zommie L. Waddley; his aunt, Ja’na Antrum; and his paternal grandfather, Tyrese T. Philips Sr.

Annie Louise Boyd, 80 of New Haven, CT a beloved mother, grandmother, godmother and a Stoic Legendary Pillar of New Haven, CT, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2025, surrounded with members of her loving family by her side.
Annie’s sun rose on December 19,1944 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. On that day she emerged as the loving, cherished daughter of the late Julius Boyd Sr. and Masie Lee King. As a youngster until young adulthood, she attended the New Haven Public School System and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School. She continued her education in Public Service, where she started laying her foundation as a Notable Piller within her community.
For well over fifty (50) years of her life she stayed in the “trenches” for change, with true integrity, authenticity and compassion. As a Black Woman Activist, she lived, breathe, slept, and ate campaigning for change. Her unwavering commitment for justice and equality seeped from her inner spirit, through her pores onto anyone and everyone who happen to share space with her, whether it be in assemblies, meetings, forums or simply at her dining room table. In the 1960’s Annie became a proud member of the New Haven Chapter of the Black Panther Party, where she
aligned herself members of the “Party” and fought tirelessly for justice, equality and for the empowerment of marginalized communities.

Such as Project M.O.R.E, Welch Annex/Scranton School Project, Community Action Agency, Congress/West Street Homes, Hill Development Corporation, National Housing Group, New Haven Democratic Committee, Mayor Toni Harp’s Community Relations Team and many many more others.
Annie was able to “smell her flowers” from the love and appreciation of the seeds that she planted during those 50 years before she passed. She reflected on the Proclamation of the City of New Haven, as the Juneteenth Coalition of Greater New Haven Honoree, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition that was presented by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, the Key to Hill Neighborhood. Ultimately on June 22, 2025, a street corner in her beloved neighborhood in the “Hill” on Congress Avenue and West Street was named in appreciation of her dedication.
She was also a staunch believer of education and family. She passed her strengths morals and values onto her children and grandchildren. Her family will forever
remember her radiant smile, love and wisdom. She left this legacy etched into the fabric of their hearts.
Annie had nine loving children, twenty grandchildren, five great-grandchildren 3 God-children and 7 Children in Love. Her living children include Howard Boyd, Valerie Boyd, Michelle Boyd, Janet Boyd, Stephen Boyd, George (Monika)Boyd, Ray (Jaqueline) Boyd, and Joseph Boyd. Her son King James Kenneth-Tamar Boyd preceded her. (We are certain that she is with him now.)
Her siblings Daniel (Crystal) Brown of North Carolina, Julia A. Gaskin of Arizona, Loretta Lee King of Connecticut, Cheryl Boyd, Brenda Boyd, Julius Boyd Jr., Alicia Boyd and Sandra Boyd all of South Carolina.
Richard Robinson Jr., Tiffany Taylor and Reorn Jones Jr. are her God-children. A Poem for Caleb
“Flawed but Beautiful”
You danced through life in your own unique way,
With laughter and love that brightened each day.
A heart so big, a smile so wide,
You lived out loud, with nothing to hide.
Through highs and lows, you still stood tall,
Not perfect, no—but loved by all.
You left behind a trail of light,
That even death cannot make night.
So we’ll laugh like you did, loud and free,
And carry your spirit in all that will be.
Your name, your joy, your fearless grace,
Forever live on in time and space.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Caleb Elisha Davis, who departed this life on August 28, 2025. Born on September 4, 1978, Caleb was a vibrant soul whose presence could light up any room.
