Dental Front Desk Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator and Dental Assistant
Location: Hamden, CT, 06514
Our busy and growing dental office is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator to add to our team. We are looking for someone who is reliable, responsible, and motivated to learn. Prior dental experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
Answering phones and greeting patients in a professional, friendly manner
Checking patients in/out and scheduling appointments
Verifying insurance benefits, including Husky/Medicaid and private insurance plans
Calculating patient co-pays and collecting payments
Preparing and submitting insurance claims
Following up on aging reports and outstanding claims
Preparing pre-authorizations for dental procedures
Coordinating treatment plans with patients
Requirements:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Dentrix
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Professional, positive, and dependable
Prior dental office experience preferred, but not required
We are also seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support our dental team and ensure top-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is reliable, friendly, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with people.
Key Responsibilities:
Chairside assisting during dental procedures
Taking digital X-rays
Sterilizing instruments and maintaining infection control protocols
Preparing and cleaning operatory rooms
Assisting with patient intake and education
Maintaining patient records and charting in dental software
Supporting the front desk with scheduling and data entry as needed
Requirements:
Fluent in Spanish and English (preferred but not required)
Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience
X-ray certification required
Basic computer skills
Strong communication and people skills
