As Shakira said…Hips Don’t Lie. We’re excited to announce that Dr. Barkley, is now certified in PennHip! PennHIP method is an x-ray technique that allows us to assess the hip joints of your dog and objectively assess their risk in regards to developing hip arthritis/hip dysplasia. This method measures hip joint laxity. The PennHIP method can be performed on dogs as young as 16 weeks of age, compared with two years using the standard and subjective OFA technique.

The data generated by PennHIP allows owners to confidently obtain an estimate of their dog’s risk for developing hip arthritis. This allows pet parents to make lifestyle adjustments for their dog to enhance the quality of their pet’s life for years to come. Please give us a call to find out more.
