Cookie-cutter programs have good intentions but…

the problem we see every single day?

They still leave people thinking:
🤔 “Is this really safe for me?”
🤔 “Am I even doing this right?”
🤔 “Will this cause issues or make them worse?”

Because a label can’t tell you HOW to move, or what your body specifically needs.

All day long, we hear:

💬 “I thought I had to avoid core work in pregnancy.”
💬 “I heard doming causes diastasis recti.”
💬 “I’m skipping weights because I don’t want to make my pelvic organ prolapse worse.”

Here’s the real reality:
✨ There is no one-size-fits-all answer.
✨ It’s not about “safe” or “unsafe”, it’s about what will give YOU the most BENEFIT.
✨ What matters is YOU: your strength, coordination, alignment, movement habits, and your current season of life.

Programs can give you workouts.
But you deserve clarity and confidence in HOW to do them for your body.

And that’s exactly what we do.

If you’re ready for customized guidance that:
✅ answers your questions clearly
✅ is built around YOU not a label
✅ makes you feel confident in your body again

We’re currently accepting clients:

Let’s figure out what benefits YOU most. 💛

‘Tis the season for feeling bloated and off schedule…

If you feel like things aren’t moving how they typically should, abdominal massage can help.

Either laying down with knees bent or in a seated position where the belly is relaxed, give this a try! Note: lotion feels nice but isn’t required.

1️⃣ Starting at the RIGHT hip bone, do upward sweeps or little circles 5-6 times. This is the “I”.

2️⃣Next, start at the RIGHT with an upward sweep, then move ACROSS at the upper abs. Same thing, sweeps or little circles a few times. This is the “L”

Side note: you might hear some gurgles, and if you do that’s a good thing!

3️⃣ Finally, start at the RIGHT with an upward sweep, move ACROSS at the upper abs, then move down at the LEFT side to the hip bone a few times. This is the “U”.

The direction of this is very important, because we want things moving out 💩 and the descending colon (the out path) is on the left 🚪

I also find that for bloating in particular, end with some sweeps from top to bottom across the belly is also helpful.

Final note: wear comfy pants and let that belly relax 🍗🥔🥦🍰

Can this be performed if you have a bun in the oven? Typically yes if you work around the baby bump, but check with your provider.

Disclaimer: we are pelvic floor therapists but not YOUR pelvic floor therapist. This is general advice, not medical, and does not replace medical guidance.

Any questions? Comment below and make sure to save this for later this week.

If you’re prepping for a v@ginal birth listen up!

Your pelvic floor muscles need to stretch- A LOT- for baby to make its way out.

Most prenatal movements focus on positions with pelvic and hip external rotation, which targets the FRONT of the pelvic floor.

But guess what?

Your pelvic floor has a front half, and a back half 🍑

We need balance between the two- and a lot of times in pregnancy that back half is tight! (Butt squeezing, anyone? 😉)

This means we need movements that also target the back.

Does stretching alone cut it for a balanced pelvic floor? Nope, but it’s a good place to start!

Try out these moves and see if you can feel an “opening” or stretch at your outer hip and back of the pelvic floor.

If you’re on the North Shore, MA and pregnant, make sure to join the next round of our Push Prep workshop at Thursday, 12/4. Comment or DM us “push” below and we’ll send you the deets.

Postpartum core strength is NOT just about the abs!

Think of your core like a “can.” Your abs make up only about 3/4 of that can- which means they’re going to have a hard time working if the rest of the system isn’t supporting them.

That’s where the setup and “stacking” comes in: we want to set the whole system up for success! The system being:

✨Deep abs
✨Diaphragm
✨Back muscles
✨Pelvic floor

When these supporting muscle groups work together, your abs can function at their full potential!

Focusing on the abs alone and ignoring the other parts of your core system is not going to be as effective.

✅ Core = full system
✅ deep core + pelvic floor = your support team 👯
✅ Abs work better when the system is setup for success 🙌

✅Other supporting muscle groups like the glutes 🍑 also help the system.

Your postpartum core is a team, not a solo project- and training it that way changes everything. 💪
