There are many ways that one can boost their health outside of the treatment room to improve overall health and longevity. Here are a few simple (not exhaustive) "Components of Health" that can be implemented into your daily lifestyle to benefit your long term health!
5 Components of Health:
1. Adequate sleep π΄
Getting a good nights π€ is essential for processing the stresses of the days activities, not just physical but mental/emotional stresses as well. GROWTH and REPAIR of all body tissues occurs during sleep to prep itself for the following day. A consistently healthy sleep schedule can lead to more sustained energy levels and a more balanced mood! π
2. Water/hydration π§
Proper hydration aids in maintaining proper cellular function of body tissues and metabolic processes.
3. Vitamins + Minerals ππ§¬π¦ βοΈ
Getting your daily intake of essential vitamins and minerals helps to regulate physiological and cellular processes.
4. MOVEMENT! πββοΈπββοΈπΎποΈβ³οΈπββοΈβΉοΈποΈββοΈπ΅βπ€ΉββοΈ
Movement is necessary for the body to pump venous and lymphatics fluids back to the β€οΈ. So go out for a walk, play a round of Pickleball, or chase your cat/dog around the yard. Movement is movement and your body appreciates it!
5. Deep breathing exercises π¨π«
Helps facilitate rib motion, activates the parasympathetic nervous system π§ββοΈ ie. increasing relaxation and reducing stress! π Best practiced before you go to bed and when you get up in the morning:
Practicing this in the morning and evening allows you to end and begin your day in a more relaxed and less stressful state. π

Excessive screen time stimulates your nervous system and can make it difficult to fall asleep π΅βπ«. Try putting screens away an hour or two before bed to help prepare your nervous system π§ for a good nights sleep! π΄
