Ravalli Family Medicine Vaccination Position Statement
At Ravalli Family Medicine, our highest priority is the health and safety of our patients. We base our medical recommendations on well-established, high-quality scientific evidence and decades of careful monitoring of patient outcomes.
Vaccines are among the most thoroughly studied medical interventions we use. Before approval, vaccines undergo rigorous clinical testing for safety and effectiveness. After approval, they continue to be closely monitored through multiple national and international safety systems to identify even rare or long-term side effects.
Our providers have dedicated significant time to studying vaccine science and public health. Based on this training and on the body of available research, we remain confident in the safety and effectiveness of recommended vaccines and in their critical role in preventing serious illness and death.
We continue to align our practice with the guidance of leading professional medical organizations, including:
• American Academy of Family Physicians
• American Academy of Pediatrics
• American College of Physicians
• American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
• American Public Health Association
• Infectious Diseases Society of America
• National Foundation for Infectious Diseases
We will also continue to follow the 2025 vaccination schedule as approved and endorsed by the preceding organizations.
There is a large amount of misinformation about vaccines circulating today. One common example is the claim that vaccines cause autism. This has been extensively studied in large, high-quality research involving millions of children across multiple countries. All credible scientific evidence has reached the same conclusion: vaccines do not cause autism.
We understand that parents and patients may have questions or concerns. We encourage open, respectful conversations about vaccines and are always happy to discuss the benefits, risks, and the evidence behind our recommendations. Our goal is to partner with you to make informed decisions that protect your health, your family, and our community.
