COURTNEY, Mildred “Ruth” age 93 of Hamilton passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Fort Hamilton Hospital. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 13, 1927, the daughter of Robert and Sarah (Kennedy) Courtney. Ruth worked as a presser and dry cleaner for 41 years at Town and Country Dry Cleaning and later West Side Dry Cleaners. She was owner and operator of Ruth’s Coney Island. Ms. Courtney worked for 3 C’s Catering Service. She played fast pitch softball in a Cincinnati League and was an avid bowler. After she retired she moved to Florida before returning to Hamilton and lived in Bell Towers for the remainder of her life.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mildred’s one great-niece, Dana Fellows, from Columbus, OH would often surprise her with a visit or flowers just to brighten her day. Dana always found the time to call and check on her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; dear friend, Helen Kiefer; three brothers, Robert Courtney Jr, Richard Layne Tolle, and Chris Howard.

RAMIREZ, Alicia Darlene age 20 of Hamilton passed away Thursday October 29, 2020. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Tracy Piatt and Jose Ramirez.

Our beloved Alicia is survived by her mother, Tracy Lynn Piatt of Houston, TX, her father, Jose Ramirez of Hamilton, OH, her brother, Carlos "Bub" Reyes, Jr. of Hamilton, OH, her Aunt Tammy and Uncle Tim of Houston, TX, her Uncle Tony and Aunt Tricia of Hamilton, OH, and her step-father, Carlos Reyes of Hamilton, OH. Preceding Alicia in death, was her dear "Mamaw" Darlene and "Fat Papaw" Jerry, and her Aunt Brooke. As a graduate of Fairfield High School, having lived in the Fairfield-Hamilton area for all of her life, Alicia had many close friends and family who will miss her greatly!

TOERNER, Eileen I. age 91 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. She was born in St. Bernard, Ohio on June 20, 1929, the daughter of Aloysius and Eleanor (Kemme) Hampel. Eileen graduated as the number one student from her Notre Dame class of 1947. On May 6, 1950, in St. John Catholic Church in Middletown she married Robert Toerner and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2000. Eileen was a member of St. Ann Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Harmonettes as her singing voice was legendary. She will always be remembered for her beautiful renditions of Oklahoma and Ave Maria. She was asked to sing the Ave Maria at many family and friends weddings.

Survivors include five children, Dan (Nancy) Toerner, Janet (Tom) Huff, John Toerner, Carol Brockman, and Bob (Barb) Toerner; eleven grandchildren, Emily Smith (Dave), Alison Hoskins (Matt), Lauren Huff (Dan Stroh), Nick Toerner, Beth Toerner, Chase Brockman (Alissa), Ross Brockman, Ben Toerner (Taylor), Lilly Toerner, Zach and Matt Toerner; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lori Toerner; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph C. Toerner on August 15, 2010; five sisters, SR Mary Ellen Hampel, Rita Peters, Ruth Vogt, Mary Imfeld, and Lois Hampel; a brother, Anthony Hampel.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fairfield Place for the loving care that she received in her second home for the last 6 years.

She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 26, 1925, the daughter of Ernest and Georgeanna (O’Hara) Jackman. On September 4, 1948 in Hamilton, she married Richard C. Roesch and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2009. Roberta was a member of St. Ann Church.

Survivors include six children, Richard (Betty) Roesch, James Roesch, Barb (Jim) Williams, Debbie Roesch, Nancy (Mark) Rolfes, and Vickie Roesch; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Georgeanna Wiggins; a half sister, Bette LoBue.

DONNER, Dita Ann age 63 of Fairfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020, at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 5, 1957, the daughter of Arnold and Doris (McKinney) Conrad. On July 3, 1976, in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fairfield she married Larry D. Donner. Dita was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; three children, Nicholas (Emily) Donner, Cassandra Donner, and Cara (Tony) Hudson; four grandchildren, Evangeline and Sophia Donner, Allura and Edwin Hudson; a brother, Barry Conrad; lifelong best friend, Lisa Gear.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Richie Conrad.

COX, Mary Louise age 86 of Hamilton, passed away Friday September 11, 2020 at Bradford Place. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 19, 1934 the daughter of Frank J. and Clara Ann (Dornberger) Hessler and was 1952 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She married William M. Cox on November 2, 1959 in St. Ann Church and he preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Cox had worked as a secretary at St. Ann School and Badin High School offices. She was a member of St. Ann Church, the Altar Rosary Society and the Notre Dame Alumni. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Ann School tutoring children.

Mary Lou enjoyed watching her sons, as well as her grandchildren, play sports.

She had a great love of music and played the piano. She especially liked playing music for the residents of Schroder Manor and was accompanied by Dolores Motzer, Ruth Ann Beckman, Redina, and Jennie White.

Survivors include three sons, William M. (Margo) Cox Jr., Lawrence J. (Jackie) Cox, and Thomas A. (Lisa) Cox; eleven grandchildren, Ashlee Turner, Chantz Bowling, Delaney Pressler, Claire Cox, Chris Cox, Annie Webb, Vince Cox, Madison Cox, Madelyn Cox, Ethan Cox, Emma Cox; ten great grandchildren.

Attended St. Stephen School and Notre Dame Academy class of 1950. On Thanksgiving Day 1953 in St. Stephen’s Church, she married Howard Hetterich, and they spent 63 years together before his death in 2017. Her greatest joy in life was being Mom, Grandma, and GG. Peggy is survived by her legacy – her children: Karen (Todd) Weber, Kathy (Tom) Tracy, Ralph (Judy) Hetterich, Jamie (Michelle) Hetterich, Lori (Todd Bergmayr) Hetterich. Her 9 grandchildren: Julia (Josh) Dolezal, JP (Ashley) Hetterich, Stephanie (John Elliott) Weber, Kelly (Kris) Knox, Jessica Hetterich, Ashley (Phillip Thayer) Hetterich, Stacie (Ryan Bucheit) Weber, Alexandria Hetterich, and Andrew Hetterich. McCune, Mark D. , age 67 of Fairfield, Ohio passed away Friday August 28, 2020 at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 4, 1953 the son of Lee D. and Juanita A. (Dirck) McCune. Mark was a 1972 graduate of Badin High School and attended Miami University. He was a member of St. Ann Church.



Survivors include his two children, Erin (Michael) Enderle and Shannon (Forrest) Beilby; five grandchildren, Conner and Cameron Enderle, Reese, Sidney and Jensen Beilby; three brothers, Dennis (Michelle) McCune, Shawn (Dorothy) McCune, and Dain (Lisa) McCune.

BRUEWER, Catherine T. died on the 25th day of August 2020, at the age of 98. Katie as we knew her, was born October 31, 1921, to Harry H. and Catherine C. (Bergedick) Bruewer. She was a lifelong resident of the Hamilton and Fairfield area. She attended St. Ann grade school and Notre Dame Academy. Katie was employed at Shuler & Benninghofen, Hamilton Autographic, and Butler County Clerk of Court Office. Early on she was a member of St. Ann and later Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Fairfield singing in their choirs. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Henry J, James A. and his wife Lavonne, Bernard and his wife Jean, Philip and his wife Sandra and sister, Ruth A. Gahan and her husband Edward. She is survived by brothers Theodore and his wife Madelyn, William and his wife Dolores and her brother, Henry’s wife Alida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who have many fond memories of Aunt Katie. In the 1960 and 70s she was active in C.Y.O. (Catholic Youth Organization) and will be remembered by many young people of that time. For her efforts she received a silver medal from the Archdiocese engraved in Latin “PRO DEO ET JUVENTE” meaning “FOR GOD AND YOUTH” of which she was very proud. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Fairfield, Father Tharp presiding. SMITH, Manson K (“Mickey”) passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the age of 88. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Manson and Areba Smith. He proudly served in United States Navy in the Korean War and was a long-time engineer at the Ford Motor Company in Sharonville, Ohio. Mickey is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joan nee Kremer, and was a devoted father of five, Daniel Smith, Thomas Smith (Anne), Anne Lehnig (Tony), Theodore Smith (Kim), and Patricia Marek (Gary). Mickey is also survived by his siblings Barbara Nickol, Terrance (Mary Rose), and Geraldine Crawford. Manson was adored by ten grandchildren and blessed with five great-grandchildren. His passions included spending time with family and friends, golfing, genealogy, daily walks, outdoor activities, and was a handyman who could fix anything. He will be remembered by all who were graced to know him by his loving, cheerful, and friendly attitude and will be sorely missed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am Saturday, August 29, 2020 at St. Julie Billiart Church, 224 Dayton St. Hamilton, Ohio 45011, followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. GETZ, Linda L. age 74 of Hamilton passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 30, 1945, the daughter of Earl and Rena Mae (Powell) Mainous.

Survivors include her husband, Walter; two step-daughters, Cassie (Aaron) Fleckinstein and Gretchen Goldhamer; three grandchildren, Dylan and Addy Fleckinstein, and Ethan Goldhamer; two brothers, Buddy (Donna) Mainous and George (Jackie) Mainous;

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Jean Paproski; a brother, Jack Mainous; a son-in-law, Paul Goldhamer.
