That first moment 🤍

We had a busy summer, welcoming lots of babies. Now, this midwife is enjoying a couple of weeks off call before the fall babies make their debut.

The summer heat 🔥 is bringing on the babies! 2 births in less than 24 hours over the weekend. Each one was wildly different and beautiful.

After birth, while resting in your own bed and eating your own food, your baby’s newborn exam is performed right next to you.

There is no rush on this as we honor the golden hour and allow ample time for mom and baby to bond and begin breastfeeding.

Only when you feel ready do we cut the cord and proceed with the newborn exam.

Then my team and I make sure everyone is tucked into bed, house is cleaned, laundry is started, and supplies are packed up before we leave. And I return a day or two later for your first postpartum visit.

💘 PSA 📣 If you conceive on Valentine’s Day, you’ll have a November baby 💘 🥰

IF you want me as your midwife in November, please contact me ASAP when you get your positive test. I take very limited clients in Nov/Dec so you need to get on my schedule!

And as a reminder, I offer all the standard prenatal testing including labs, NIPT genetic testing, ultrasounds & newborn screenings. You do not have to receive co-care with an OB, although some people choose to do that.
