What is an MRI? Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides a more detailed examination of soft tissues, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Unlike X-rays, MRIs do not utilize radiation. Instead, they employ a magnetic field to generate detailed images. Dr. Chiasson may recommend an MRI if your pain is suspected to involve tendon tears, ligament injuries, or inflammation not visible on an X-ray. MRIs are performed at our clinic.

Typically, X-rays are the first step in evaluating bone fractures, joint alignment, arthritis, and other structural conditions.
