Before the snow starts piling up, the Hammonton Fire Department reminds residents to prepare now and take a few simple steps to keep yourself, your family, and our community safe.
🚒 Our firefighters will be staffing both stations throughout the storm, ensuring emergency coverage and rapid response for our community.
❄️ SNOW EMERGENCY – STREET PARKING PROHIBITED ❄️🚫
To keep our roads clear and our community safe, ALL vehicles MUST be removed from public streets once snow begins to accumulate.
🏠 Home Safety Tips:
✔️ Clear entryways and exits – Shovel and salt walkways, steps, and doors so they can be opened easily in an emergency. A blocked exit can cost precious time.
✔️ Use space heaters safely – Keep at least 3 feet of clearance and never leave them unattended.
✔️ Never use generators or grills indoors – This can lead to deadly carbon monoxide exposure.
✔️ Test smoke alarms & CO detectors – Make sure they’re working properly.
🚒 Help Your Local Fire Department:
• Clear snow and ice from any fire hydrants near your home.
• Keep hydrants visible and accessible, every second counts during an emergency.
• Call 911 only for true emergencies

Have emergency supplies ready, including medications, flashlights, batteries, food, water, and blankets.
