Even just “walking” with a horse can result in amazing insight. My friend came out to help Grace get in her “steps” for the week. It was so fun to see their connection develop with a simple walk. As Joyce got clear about her “plan” and communicated it in such a kind way to Grace, you could see a visible shift in body language. They both relaxed, turned toward each other and walked together calmly and connected. So many of us as (me included)struggle with making our requests known…we feel guilty, or we worry we are too much or not enough and as a result we miss out on seeing what happens when we show up as our true selves! That’s where connection starts…when we show up.

Hello!! This is Grace. Some have called her Miss Overdramatic. She loves naps, Bunny, and making faces at Flash. She can find a way out of any tight situation and persists to get her needs met. She’s also known as Princess Grace due to her beautiful dark coat, elegant body, long legs with white socks and a white heart shaped spot on her side . She used to do fancy dressage and her second career is a therapy horse. She often wants to know: Do you mean what you say? Are you calm and self regulated? Do you know how to have fun? Can you keep safe boundaries? Do you give up easily? Can you let go of frustration and stay connected with me?

Experience working with horses to help heal. We have limited openings for equine therapy!

Horses don’t worry about the past, present or future. They live in the moment, without the typical biases that we experience as people with one another. Being accepted for who we are creates a relationship where we feel truly seen and heard. Horses help us heal because they provide this experience that feels nonjudgmental and accepting 🐴

Our Story

Hope Reins is dedicated to providing mental health, personal growth, and educational services to help individuals, families and teams achieve their goals. Many people come to us feeling discouraged. Ongoing stress and trauma destroy hope and joy. We believe in working creatively to help you find your gifts again, to find that hope again. Because we have seen that traditional approaches do not help everyone, we believe in creatively pursuing alternative approaches. We utilize Equine Psychotherapy, Art, and EMDR, in addition to traditional and faith based approaches. We are hoping to add movement therapy soon! Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Learning and Development, and Equine Assisted Professional Education are the core programs used at Hope Reins.
