It’s 7:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July, and while the fireworks haven’t started yet, I’m driving home from an overnight and will return tonight, offering the kind of freedom that really matters after birth.

Because freedom in postpartum means having the space to rest, to heal, to bond… without carrying the weight alone.

Did you know this little one’s tummy can hold about one teaspoon volume at a time? Her anatomy is still developing for eating outside the womb. For these reasons, smaller more frequent feedings are important to keep her comfortable and limit spit up. Also, when bottle feeding, choose the slowest flow tonic natures flow rate. These first days are demanding but the sweet baby snuggles are priceless. ☀️

I've seen nurses hold space during difficult contractions, celebrate first breaths, and provide comfort during unexpected outcomes—all within a single shift. From L&D nurses who dance with me through 12-hour shifts to NICU nurses who handle tiny fighters with gentle precision, your work matters deeply.

What makes nurses truly extraordinary is how you embody humanity's best qualities—resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication. You show up fully for people in their most vulnerable moments, holding space for pain, fear, joy and transformation with equal grace.

This little ham is one month old! Mom and dad are doing phenomenal as a team. It was fun to be a part of their daytime rhythm, guiding and affirming while also helping them keep up with household tasks for the first four weeks fold parenthood. ☺️
