If you have urgent prescription needs, please go to your preferred point of pharmacy service for assistance. For all routine prescriptions, please wait for updated messaging that the technical issue has been resolved.

The Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and Branch Health Clinic Outpatient Pharmacy services are experiencing delays in processing prescriptions due to software latency.

If you have urgent or immediate prescription needs, please ask your provider to electronically submit or provide a handwritten prescription to take to your preferred Tricare retail network pharmacy (https://militaryrx.express-scripts.com/find-pharmacy).

If you have previously submitted a prescription request, we will begin processing these as soon as services are fully restored.

Power has been restored to the parking garage, the Drop-Off CDC and Health Benefits.

⚠️ COMMAND UPDATE: NMCP Building 249 Power Failure

Building 249 (Main Parking Garage) is experiencing a power failure that will take several days to repair. Please be aware of the following impacts:

🧸Drop-Off CDC: Closed (potentially until Friday, May 8 ). Call the CDC daily to verify status before drop-off. Active Duty staff: contact your chain of command for support. If you have a medical appt or surgery and lost childcare, please call your clinic ASAP to reschedule (please avoid no-shows!).

🏥 Health Benefits Office: Closed to walk-ins for the rest of the week. Phones are ACTIVE! Staff will temporarily relocate (location TBD—watch this page and the office door for updates).

🚗 Garage Safety: Lighting is very limited. Please exercise extreme caution walking or driving. Need a security es**rt to your car? Please see the Quarterdeck.

We are proud to recognize LTJG Melissa Howell as a DAISY Award recipient for compassion, and dedication to patient care in Labor and Delivery.

While caring for a patient in L&D in July of 2024, LTJG Howell served as the patient and patients family advocate throughout the delivery. The family took note of all efforts and stated “LTJG Howell professionalism personal experiences blended with grace made all sides of labor clear and deserving of the Daisy Award.”

LTJG Dominic Crisicione, March 2026 Daisy Award Winner

We are proud to recognize LTJG Criscione as our Command March DAISY Award recipient for his outstanding compassion, motivation, and dedication to patient care in PICU.

While caring for a patient in the PICU, LTJG Criscione created an environment of safety, reassurance, kindness and advocation for pediatric patients and families in an overwhelming time where a patient could potentially have Botulism. LTJG Criscione fellow nurses noticed all his effort and shared that “There is no fiercer advocate for patients.”

We are proud to recognize LTJG Criscione for the meaningful difference he makes each day on his unit.
