A note from Emma regarding late cancels & no shows:
This summer has been a hot one and we have had some jam packed classes at the studio, which brings me and all our instructors so much joy.
Statistically, summer months are much slower for indoor fitness establishments, so having classes that are waitlisted is truly a blessing for a small business.
With that being said, we have seen a large increase in late cancel and no shows in the past month. From June 8 to July 8th we had 95 (yes 95) late cancel and no shows. That is the equivalent to 8 full classes at our studio. We understand that the beautiful weather may warrant the beach rather than the studio, but please be mindful about our business, instructors, and those who are left on the waitlists because you didn’t show up to class. Our cancellation window is 6 hours prior to the start of class.
Going forward, late cancellations will be charged all at once on the Monday following the previous week. If you have multiple cancellations or no shows during that week, it will be a single charge. Example: 4 no shows will be charged $40. If your credit card does not go through for a late cancel charge, your account will be paused and you will be unable to book classes until that payment is made. Please be sure your credit card is updated on MINDBODY.
I have done my best to be very lenient with cancellations over the past three years, but going forward I will have to have a zero-tolerance policy. 95 cancellations over the course of a month is huge financial dent for the business side of our studio, especially during a slower season.
Thank you for reading this very long, but very important message. The studio and all of you mean the world to me. I am very blessed to be able to do what I love every day.
Sincerely,
Emma B.
