Grateful for today’s opportunity to connect and collaborate 🤝

Tanesha Scott, Marketing Manager, and Andrea Johnson, Director of Operations at Benevolent Family Services, had the pleasure of hosting a Lunch & Learn with the incredible Case Managers and Discharge Planners at Pyramid Healthcare, Inc..

We were honored to share how BFS serves as a step-down option for patients transitioning after successfully completing their programming—and how, together, we can build stronger, healthier communities 💚

And let’s not forget the stunning waterfront views of the Hampton Roads Harbor… an inspiring backdrop for such meaningful conversation 🌊

Thank you, Heather Wilson and all the staff of Pyramid Healthcare, for your partnership and dedication to the individuals and families you serve!

April is Alcohol Awareness Month.

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) affects people from all walks of life—it's a chronic medical condition, not a character flaw.

If you or a loved one are using alcohol to cope with stress, grief or anxiety, BFS offers services and counseling to help you regain control. Recovery is possible, and we're here to help! 💚

Celebrating World Autism Acceptance Day! 🌟

Today, April 2nd, Benevolent Family Services is proud to join the global community in celebrating World Autism Acceptance Day! 💙

For us, this day is about more than just "knowing" autism exists—it’s about a daily commitment to Acceptance, Inclusion, and Opportunity. We celebrate the unique perspectives, creative strengths, and valuable contributions that neurodivergent individuals bring to our Hampton Roads and Richmond communities.

While traditional outpatient therapy is a great start, we know that truly flourishing sometimes requires a deeper, more structured level of care. Our PHP (Partial Hospitalization) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient) programs are designed to provide a compassionate environment where individuals can:

🛡️ Navigate sensory processing in a safe, supportive space.

🤝 Practice social communication in real-time peer groups.

🧠 Develop emotional regulation tools tailored to how their brain works.

Whether it’s several hours a day (PHP) or several days a week (IOP), we strive to be the supportive hand that ensures individuals of all ages have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Let’s build a more inclusive society together! Join us in wearing blue, sharing stories, and advocating for a future built on understanding and love.

Not sure which level of care is right for your family? Send us a DM—our intake team is here to help you navigate your options. 📩

Bipolar disorder affects millions of individuals and families, yet understanding and support can make all the difference. At Benevolent Family Services, we are committed to breaking the stigma, raising awareness, and providing compassionate, quality care to those navigating mental health challenges.

You are not alone—and help is always within reach.

Let’s continue the conversation, educate our communities, and support one another.

Together, We Make a Difference!

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to support The Daily Planet's Medical Respite and Safe Haven residences yesterday with our very first BFS90 event in Richmond! Our team was honored to serve a hot meal and share an afternoon of connection and compassion.

Let’s make this week one of resilience and compassion. 💚

Today is Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) Awareness Day. 🧠

DID is a complex creative survival mechanism, usually rooted in significant childhood trauma. Education is the first step toward breaking the stigma. Let’s lead with empathy and support for those navigating life with DID.
