Welcome to The Sante Center – your care starts here.
At the Sante Center for Natural Healing, we believe the most effective health care approach is to focus on the unique, diverse needs of each individual. True healing doesn’t come from a one-size-fits-all concept. We provide a wide range of science-based, innovative holistic and naturopathic therapies to treat chronic disease and optimal wellness.
I created The Sante Center for Natural Healing back in 1996 after losing my mother to cancer in 1977. I realized at that time, as a young 17 year old teenager, that medicine was not all what it was cracked up to be. I believed, at 16 years of age, that "somehow cancer developed in her body, somehow it can leave her body." I would suggest to my mom that she take a hot bath and maybe "sweat it out?"
I began my life long journey in medicine. I wanted to be just like my mom, who was a dedicated RN. I decided on a CETA program being offered in MA at the time. I worked in a local nursing home 4 days and 3 days in school. I had not yet graduated high school, but felt this was my best path. It was a new program combining both high school and a LPN program. You see, after mom died, I was on my own. I needed to support myself. So this program made sense.
I was so sadly disappointed working in the healthcare industry, seeing first hand that everything was about a pill. Why? What makes this pill so good for us? What is this pill made of? Why aren't they working? Why are people still dying of disease? I was 19 years old and full of questions.
I am a visual learner. Nothing about medicine made sense. I left the field afraid and not trusting the medical model as we have been programmed to believe "as being normal".
I knew there had to be another way but what is it? Is the practice of removing organs normal? How can anyone believe ripping a vital organ out of ones body as normal? Sounded very barbaric to me? I saw what medicine did to my mother. She was full of scars from head to toe. There had to be another way?
I consider myself to be a very spiritual person, who grew up in a very Catholic household. Although I have a strong faith in God, religion made no sense to me either? If God is so good, then why all this disease and death? Why did God take my world away from me when he "called" my mother home? Doesn't sound right? So needless to say, my spiritual journey also began right around the same time my hunger to learn about a healthy lifestyle began.
"I know God is good, so I know there is a way to heal disease." Still, to this day, I always pray/meditate on my own. Always asking God, who is my higher power, to lead my way.
One day, about 40 years ago, I stumbled upon a juicing book. WOW, this book made total sense to me. At the time I was already taking alternative classes anywhere and everywhere throughout the US, this is what began my personal research and journey of bringing to the world my message of health and healing.
I sought out great doctors, Norman Walker, Anne Wigmore, Mathias Rath, Linus Pauling, Dr's Carringher, Emerson, Herring, Kellogg, Trall, Graham, R.D. Pope and many more, all whom I consider to be our forefathers of medicine, all healing without the use of drugs.
What medical research is finally proving regarding our microbiome, (which by the way is a fancy word for your colon), is something I have been preaching for 30 years. Back then I was considered a quack, but I made a difference in so many peoples lives. For those who listened and believed, they are here today because they also believed in another way or I was their last resort and hope of healing.
Life was extremely difficult back then, because not many supported me along my way, even my own family. My passion was taken by some as a "sales pitch." I was made fun of, bypassed, and called just about every negative comment one could conjure up regarding alternative health and what I believed in, which is the medicinal power of living food found in fruits, herbs and vegetables. It only made me stronger.
While there is still so much to learn and so much research that is still not available to the public, I will leave you with this. One of the most important things you can do for yourself or your loved ones, who may be suffering from illness, or just for wellness sake, is to research both sides. By research, I mean know what you are putting into your body. Understand the chemistry of every single substance and the role that chemical web plays within you. Do not take any one persons word as the begin all, end all. Do your homework. Take the time to understand that every single substance you put into your mouth will have either a negative or positive effect in you, on a cellular level, which will either build you or feed disease causing deterioration or degeneration, leading cellular death. The person you chose as your health provider should know the answers to all your questions beginning with the word why. They should understand the chemical reaction of all foods, good or bad and how it effects your microbiome. What is the condition of your gut? What type metabolizer are you? It is critical your health care professional understands how each of their clients personally functions. It is important that your health care professional understands that there is more to healing than what research offers. It is important that your health care provider understands the difference between detoxification and disease as they mimic one another.
If one takes the time to research and educate themselves in the chemistry of not only the human body but the chemistry of food, one will know healing is possible without the use of drugs.
Do I believe God is good? You bet I do, he created Mother Earth who holds every seed bearing plant, tree and vine, producing what our bodies need to heal. He created the elements and everything we need to not only heal, but to thrive and live in. Take stock in your surroundings and in yourself. A good doctor is not a good doctor because he understands your disease or he is a "specialist in his field" or because he works in a prestigious hospital. A good doctor to me, is one that takes the time and understands all options available to heal. He/she is an educator not a pill pusher. If you are still suffering with disease after years of treatment with no improvement, then I believe your doctor just wore out his good title.
Healing is hard, focused work, but for those who walk the path, I believe victory can to be had. I have dedicated my life and followed my passion for healing and want to share my personal journey.
Wishing you all peace and the very best in health
