Partridge House Families and Staff,
On July 1st, there was a car accident involving the telephone pole out front of Partridge House which caused our power, internet and telephone systems to go down. Unitil has been kind enough to schedule the replacement of the telephone pole on a day where the weather forecast is cool so as not to cause any additional discomfort to our residents.
Please be advised that this Thursday, July 31st our power, internet and phones will be down for the day. The estimate is for the entire business day however, the phones may be out longer than that. Lafayette Road will be closed for some time in order to accommodate the work crews so please use the Tuck Road entrance on this day.
Thank you all so much for your patience during this necessary repair.

Did you know...
Sepsis affects over 1.7 million Americans annually and is a leading cause of hospital readmissions.
Nearly 87% of patients with sepsis have symptoms prior to being admitted to the hospital.
Sepsis can affect anyone, but people who are older or have other health problems are at higher risk, which can lead to septic shock, multiple organ failure and even death.
That is why Genesis is committed to providing targeted care to at-risk populations, through an evidence-based approach, allowing for early identification and intervention.

Vera Kerschner joined our Laurel Center family on May 7, 2024, drawn to us by our proximity to her son and the glowing recommendation from her brother-in-law, a former resident. Having heard only wonderful things about our care, food, and beautiful landscape, Vera was hopeful. But what she found here exceeded even her expectations.
From the moment she arrived, Vera felt at home in our serene country setting, a reminder of the place she cherished for over 60 years. This connection to the environment has been more than comforting; itās been healing.
Vera has made remarkable strides since her admission, and her recent triumph at her first-ever bingo event is just one example. She didnāt just win onceāshe won twice in a row! Amid laughter, Vera joked, āIt wasnāt the best way to make friends,ā as her roommate playfully teased, āBeginnerās luck!ā The joy and camaraderie they shared is the essence of what makes Laurel special.
Having worked as a dental assistant for 34 years, Vera knows the value of a caring community. She now recommends Laurel to friends and family, praising the warm atmosphere, delicious food, and endless activities that keep life vibrant and engaging.
But above all, what Vera loves most about Laurel is the peopleāthe dedicated staff, the friendly residents, and the shared experiences that make every day feel like home. Here at Laurel, Leading with Heart isnāt just a motto; itās the way we live, and itās why Vera feels she belongs.
