Partridge House celebrates and welcomes children to join our residents for activities and events. Studies on intergenerational connections have shown that children who spend time with seniors have higher grades in History, Social Studies and Science.

These studies also show that seniors who spend time with children report being happier than those who do not, have lower blood pressure, and take less prescription medications.

Sounds like it’s a win-win for everyone!!!

Today Dylan (12-years old) came in to help call Bingo and won over the crowd with his smile.

This past weekend, Miss Hampton Beach First Runner Up, Leah, Junior Miss Hampton Beach, Riley, and Little Miss Hampton Beach, Avery, participated in Celebrity Bingo with our residents. It was a fun time for all!

Tonight our chef Chris is making Partridge House residents salmon pie with a homemade crust. The salmon is sautéed in white wine, garlic and onion. Chris is pairing this deliciousness with roasted brussels sprouts seasoned with garlic, brown sugar, honey and pepper.

Chris loves to spoil our residents with his amazing recipes.

On Wednesday June 18th, Partridge House partnered with the Hampton Chamber of Commerce in hosting the Annual Senior Beach Day at Hampton Beach . The weather held off and we had a full house with seniors from our local communities, businesses and plenty of volunteers! Our favorite Hampton PD staff, Goliath and Tucker, attended as well! We served over 225 people and are proud to be a part of this great community.

Vera Kerschner joined our Laurel Center family on May 7, 2024, drawn to us by our proximity to her son and the glowing recommendation from her brother-in-law, a former resident. Having heard only wonderful things about our care, food, and beautiful landscape, Vera was hopeful. But what she found here exceeded even her expectations.

From the moment she arrived, Vera felt at home in our serene country setting, a reminder of the place she cherished for over 60 years. This connection to the environment has been more than comforting; it’s been healing.

Vera has made remarkable strides since her admission, and her recent triumph at her first-ever bingo event is just one example. She didn’t just win once—she won twice in a row! Amid laughter, Vera joked, “It wasn’t the best way to make friends,” as her roommate playfully teased, “Beginner’s luck!” The joy and camaraderie they shared is the essence of what makes Laurel special.

Having worked as a dental assistant for 34 years, Vera knows the value of a caring community. She now recommends Laurel to friends and family, praising the warm atmosphere, delicious food, and endless activities that keep life vibrant and engaging.

But above all, what Vera loves most about Laurel is the people—the dedicated staff, the friendly residents, and the shared experiences that make every day feel like home. Here at Laurel, Leading with Heart isn’t just a motto; it’s the way we live, and it’s why Vera feels she belongs.

Yesterday, we celebrated another important milestone in Alzheimer’s treatment. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted traditional approval of donanemab, sold under the brand name Kisunla, for the treatment of people living with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease, which includes mild cognitive impairment and the mild dementia stage of Alzheimer’s disease, with confirmed amyloid plaques. This is the third FDA approval granted for an Alzheimer’s treatment that changes the underlying course of the disease. Learn more here. 👇
