Farm of the Brave (F.O.B.) Charlie

Farm of the Brave (F.O.B.) Charlie As every Combat Vet knows the site of the FOB's gate means the safe conclusion of another mission. When F.O.B. The name sake for the farm is Charlie.

A place where the constant observations of their fellow soldiers allows for a momentary lapse in their heightened alertness. Upon the return home, so many veterans are unable to drop that alertness, and anxiety is the result. When complete the first thing those Vet's will find upon entering Farm Of the Brave Charlie will be a familiar set of Hesko's and a hanging gate, letting them know that beyond is a place of security and comfort. The goal is to one day provide a fully operational farm where Veteran's can experience several forms of unconventional therapy. Studies have shown that Vet's suffering from PTSD experience vast improvements from interactions with animals and working the land planting crops. For those just looking for a place to relax, an area of the farm will be set aside for event's, shows, movies, and anything else that the patrons choose to do. Charlie is fully operational, it will also create employment opprotunities for Vet's who need them. She was the puppy rescued by 3rd platoon, C. Co., 1/102nd IN in afghanistan February 2010. She was a failthful compainoin, a source of comfort for the entire FOB and was there to greet us when we returned from missions. Unfortunatley Charlie never made it home to the U.S. and was taken from us on May 21, 2010.
