Celebrate Healthcare report::
Today we successfully completed our 3rd Snap and Medicaid Stakeholders Coalition Kick Off in Portsmouth @ TCC . The others were @ VPCC on the Peninsula, TCC VB campus and marking a monumental milestone in our mission to empower and uplift Non-Profits, Faith leaders, Organizations and agencies with knowledge on the recent Snap and Medicaid changes. We partnered with the United Way .The Virginia Poverty Law Center Experts delivered an excellent impactful presentation.
By working together as a community, we can make a transformative difference in the lives of recipients by assisting them with paperwork and work requirements. Our coalition meetings, held at Community Colleges, highlight the incredible opportunities available to recipients earning under 60k, enabling them to take classes at no charge and fulfill the 80 hours work requirements. Next step, we will be hosting Community Town Halls, equipped with valuable resources to support current SNAP recipients in meeting the new work and volunteer requirements, while also preparing Medicaid Expansion recipients for the upcoming changes on January 1, 2027. We will have Community Town Halls with resources. Headed to Richmond , Southside, Southwest and Nova too! It's a challenging yet needed endeavor, and with our collective efforts, we will rise to the occasion and make a lasting impact.
