Phenomix Testing

Simply taking a medication to lose weight will in fact help you lose weight, but it will not help improve your health and set in long term healthy lifestyle choices.

At DCCM we believe in developing unique treatment plans for each individual patient and it starts with diagnostic information such as laboratory work and a review of your medical history.

Next, we perform what is called Phenomix test; this looks at your genetic markers and helps us understand why you are gaining weight and we can create treatment algorithms specific to your genetic needs .

This is one of the many things that sets us apart from online pharmacies selling research grade products and clinics offering skinny shots without prescriptive authority or the understanding the health of the patient.

Comment Phenomix and we will provide you with a discount code for the test with our practice.

🌸 Evidence-Based Breakdown: Vaginal Estrogen

According to NAMS and ACOG, localized vaginal estrogen is a highly effective option for treating Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) because it delivers low-dose estrogen directly to affected tissues with minimal systemic absorption.

Vaginal estrogen is not just for the inside of the vaginal canal. GSM impacts the entire vulvovaginal region: the v***a, vestibule, vaginal opening, mid-vaginal canal, urethral opening, and surrounding mucosa all contain estrogen receptors. When estrogen levels drop, these tissues can become thin, dry, irritated, and more prone to discomfort or tearing.

This is why many clinicians emphasize that GSM is not simply an “internal dryness” issue. Research shows symptoms often appear at the entrance and external tissues: burning, irritation, tearing with in*******se, and discomfort with movement frequently originate in the vestibule and v***ar tissues, not just deeper inside.

Vaginal estrogen has been shown in studies to improve lubrication, restore elasticity, thicken the vaginal epithelium, normalize pH, reduce urinary urgency and frequency, and lower the risk of recurrent UTIs. These benefits occur because estrogen supports collagen formation, blood flow, and tissue integrity across all estrogen-dependent areas.

Localized vaginal estrogen is generally considered safe for long-term use for many patients, based on research and guideline statements, but individual evaluation by a licensed clinician is essential.

🌸 Key takeaway
GSM affects both internal and external estrogen-dependent tissues, which is why placement guidance from a clinician often includes the full vulvovaginal area, not just deep insertion with an applicator. Any specific technique, dosing, or placement should always be directed by the prescribing medical provider.
Education empowers while personalized guidance protects your health.

There is a lot of misinformation and I’m happy to clear it up.

Who is afraid of vaginal estrogen?

Aesthetic medicine is often discussed in terms of results, trends, or techniques. What is discussed far less, yet matters most, is relationship.

Medicine works best when care is continuous. When a provider has the time and consistency to understand anatomy, response patterns, healing tendencies, and personal goals, treatment becomes safer, more precise, and more aligned over time. This understanding is not created in a single visit, nor can it be transferred between practices.

For patients, loyalty is not about obligation. It is about being known. It is about having a medical team that remembers how your body responds, what has worked, what has not, and how to guide you forward thoughtfully rather than reactively.

For providers, continuity of care is a professional responsibility. It allows for better decision making, refined technique, ethical sourcing, and collaborative oversight. It is how medicine remains medicine, even in a space that is increasingly commercialized.

This field is at its best when trust is mutual, standards are high, and care is built over time. Whether you are a patient seeking thoughtful treatment or a provider committed to safe, ethical practice, continuity is not a limitation. It is a safeguard.

Being known matters.
