Death could not conquer Greg Lehmann, a man who recently faced almost died four times. Resilience and perseverance now describe his ongoing eleven month recovery from bacterial pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, acute kidney injury and septic shock. Its miracle he is alive today.

Lehmann owns and operates a small insulation business, called Greg’s Insulation. After returning from work on a November evening, he experienced flu like symptoms. Over the next few days they intensified with non-stop vomiting and severe fatigue. Lehmann’s brother-in-law Joseph drove him to Cullman Regional Medical Center. Doctors immediately admitted him into the ICU and he was placed on a ventilator. A couple of weeks later, his condition worsened. On the verge of death, he was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital. He almost died three times during his seven week stay there.

Before removing the ventilator, doctors and other medical professionals were uncertain if survival was possible. If it was, they thought he could be permanently disabled. Lehmann, fifty pounds lighter with every muscle in his frail body atrophied was determined to survive. He looked first to God, praying for strength and healing. Love for his wife and children gave him the resolve to overcome the odds and begin the grind of a long arduous rehabilitation process.

He was released from the hospital on January 18, 2023 with a weakened body, a feeding tube in him, and frequent coughing spells. His strength and stamina have slowly improved with occupational and physical therapy. Following months of excruciating rehab, Lehmann is free from sickness and off the feeding tube. He is about 75 percent recovered. Most of his recovery now involves building muscle and improving cardiovascular fitness.

We are happy to announce that Greg has returned to work with renewed vigor, despite facing medical challenges and the complexities of running a business. Resuming operations after a prolonged hospital stay poses new challenges in operating his business, but he is ready and committed to serving you and earning your trust.
