To celebrate we stayed out in NOLA at a swanky hotel, had drinks poolside, then went out to dinner where the staff spoiled us.

I'm so proud of the life we've built together and for our family. It took a lot of work to get where we are, but it just makes it that much more meaningful.

Not that it's ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ต ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด news that bones grow brittle as we age, but there are ways of ๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ that broken hip that ๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ด 20-30% of elderly patients within a year of the injury - ok, that last part may have been new information.

So, back to my original point: doctors ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ญ๐˜บ treat bone loss with bone density medications that typically only get you so far. The most common ones actually ๐˜ซ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ต build, but don't clear out the ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ.

It's like treating a ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น by adding more plaster to it. Over time it's just thicker, but ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ stronger.

Resistance training, adequate protein, and getting enough nutrients like calcium and Vitamin D can stop bone loss in its tracks.

Do with that information what you will, but I do hope you consider how important it is for your future self.

And I'll tell you what, my future self would be an ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—น๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ if she were to be stuck in a hospital bed, looking back at what I took for granted ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ๐˜ข๐˜บ. I can see her from here, the death stare is no joke...yeah, I'm heading to see my barbell today.

If you don't think of yourself as the ๐˜ต๐˜บ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ who goes to the gym, I'm guessing you're still someone who doesn't enjoy going to the ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ either.
