How I overcomplicated getting fit
And what I’m doing now

I did a bunch of group classes and HIIT
They’re fun and good for cardio, but within 3 months, they can stop showing results.
Even with puddles on the floor, fat loss stalls and so does motivation.
So I got smarter and more intentional. Which sped up results and in less time.

More does not equal better.

I went down to 3 days a week in the gym. Doing full body exercises that required heavier weights and plenty of rest time.

I walked out of the gym feeling energized instead of drained. And the results hit quickly.

Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.

50 different exercises crammed into 30-60 minutes may sound productive. But why work so hard when it doesn’t move the needle as much as 3-6 exercises done in 1 hour, only 2-3x a week?

This was a powerful lesson that took me nearly 20 years to learn.
And now I’m sharing that with you.

Great for endurance and those with blood sugar sensitivities
Not great for long-term weight loss and longevity

Yet this is what everyone seems to think they should do (myself included, until I realized it wasn't working and found something better)

It is also something I see many other trainers doing with their clients at the gym

Do they get results in the first few months?
Yes.
Do they plateau before reaching their goals, or walk away entirely because motivation fades?
Also, yes.

Circuits, cardio, and Keto are flash in the pan for most people
Instead, we focus on building fat torching muscle

We tend to get impressed by offers packed with bonuses and add-ons. But when we finally sit down to open all the tabs, listen to the audios, and watch the videos, most of us shut down.

We tell ourselves we’ll get to it later.
Later becomes weeks.
Weeks become months.
Eventually, it gets deleted without ever being used.

That’s because the most actionable change doesn’t come from having more information. It comes from being able to apply something immediately.

When I started building my membership, I had far more ideas than I needed. I was told to scale it back. At first, that felt counterintuitive. Wouldn’t more value come from adding more?

But I simplified. I got intentional. I focused on building one clean system that people could actually show up to.

And that’s when it clicked.

What makes something powerful isn’t how much is inside it. It’s how usable it is.

Simplicity isn’t lazy. It’s strategic.

Real change doesn’t come from stacking content. It comes from building systems that fit into real life. Systems that reduce friction. Systems that make consistency possible.

If we want people to move more, eat better, and take better care of themselves, the solution isn’t overwhelming them with information. It’s designing experiences that make action easier than avoidance.

What I did yesterday, instead of arguing with people online, that was actually helpful:

-Treated myself to coffee in a cute café in New Orleans (supported a small business)
-Edited and dropped my latest Podcast Episode that was centered on women's health
-Updated my sales pages and dropped a love note in my new M.O.V.E. Studio membership
-Bought my son his birthday gifts
-Took the other son to Krav Maga
-Dinner and King Cake with my boys
-Read a book

I stopped giving over my power a long time ago. My nervous system thanks me for it and I can pour more good out into the world.
