Did you know the drum is one of the oldest known instruments in the world? The oldest drum ever found dates back to 5500 BC in China.

It has been used for thousands of years, across every culture, every continent, every ancestry. The drum has always been there.

It has been used for prayer, healing, and ceremony. Not by one people. By all people. No matter where you come from, the drum is in your history somewhere.

The drum is not just an instrument. It is a teacher. A mirror. A heartbeat that helps you come back to yourself.

When I started working with the drum, I did not realize it had so much to teach. But it has taught me so much. Not only has it taught me patience, presence, and how to listen without words, it has taught me to let go of perfection, trust timing, and that your energy matters - plus so much more.

There is a reason the drum is used to open ceremony. It calls us back to the sacred. And I think that is why so many of us feel something stir when we hear one, even if we have never played before. It is not just a sound. It is a remembering.

S**t I wish someone would have told me:

Starting over is possible at any age, and it will hurt like hell, and it will also free you in ways you did not expect.

Nobody tells you that you can do everything right and still have the ground pulled out from under you. Nobody tells you how disorienting it is to rebuild from scratch when you thought that chapter of your life was settled.

But nobody told me this part either. That the rebuilding would remind me of a strength I had stopped noticing. That getting too comfortable had made me forget what I was actually capable of.

The hard part is real. And so is what comes after it.

Did you know your first drumbeat was not even a drum?

It was your mother's heartbeat. That steady rhythm was the first sound you ever knew. The first sense of safety, connection, and belonging you ever felt.

That is why so many of us feel something stir when we hear a drum, even if we have never played one before. It is not just a sound. It is a remembering.

That is what I love about this work. Every time I make a drum or sit in a drum circle, I feel that truth come back, not just in my head but in my whole body.

And I think that is what makes the drum so sacred. It helps us come home to ourselves.

Have you ever felt that? Drop a comment and tell me what rhythm means to you.

If you are ready to make your own drum, I have a workshop coming up on May 16 at 1 pm at The Art Barn at MeadowSweet Farm in Bigfork.

Only 2 spots left. Grab your spot here: https://www.tinazufelt.com/booking-calendar/drum-making-workshop?utm_medium=page_links

I'm easing my way back into drum making and starting to look ahead to offering workshops again.

Honestly, I miss creating with my hands, and I miss the connection that comes from the workshops.

I'm starting to explore spaces and interest here in Montana (and maybe beyond). If you know of a space or group that might be a good fit, let me know. Thank you!

One thing I know as a business owner myself is that the admin side of running a business can create the most stress. Not because it’s hard, but because it never ends.

Emails, scheduling, invoices, follow-up’s, job tracking…..it all adds up when you are also doing the actual work that brings in income.

That’s the gap I help fill.

I offer steady, behind the scenes administrative support for small businesses that want things handled calmly and consistently, without a lot of back and forth.

Remote or local.

Message me if you want more info.

I created Reclaim Your Spark – Fall because so many of us, myself included, spend years tending to everyone else.
Family, work, responsibilities… all the things that need us.

Somewhere along the way, our own spark gets pushed to the side.

This program is a space to come back to it.
Each month you’ll get a short teaching, one simple practice, and a few journal prompts to help you reconnect.

October’s spark is ashes, the clearing, the letting go, and the noticing of what still feels alive underneath it all.

You can start anytime and move in your own rhythm.
$33 for the full season — October, November, and December.
