Our Story

Amy Knickerbocker has been practicing Optometry in the Hannibal area for over 17 years and is a member of the American Optometric Association. For the last four years she has resided within the Hannibal Walmart Vision Center, as an Independent Optometrist, where she is a face of approachable eye care for the community.

She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of Georgia before moving onto the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where she graduated in 1999 as a Doctor of Optometry. After graduation she followed her family to Hannibal to begin her career. Not long after moving to Hannibal, she met Kevin and they later married in 2001, she also took on the role of a step-mother. In 2007 they welcomed their twin girls into her family.

When Dr. Knickerbocker isn’t in the office saving vision, she enjoys running, swimming, kickboxing, and has recently picked up the sport of cycling with her husband. She believes in promoting the health and fitness of others as well, and embraces that same philosophy when caring for her patients. While taking the time to get to know her patients she is able to discuss their eye health and vision care needs and explains how it relates to their lifestyle.
