π Illinois is Heating Up β Letβs Keep Our Seniors Safe! π
At Heavenly Home Care, we know how important it is to protect our elderly loved ones during this hot Illinois summer. With temperatures rising and heat alerts becoming more frequent, older adults (65+) are at greater risk for heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
π΄π§ Why are older adults more vulnerable?
According to the CDC, as we age, our bodies become less efficient at regulating temperature. Chronic conditions, medications, and decreased mobility can make it harder for seniors to stay cool and hydrated.

β€οΈ Hereβs how you can help protect your loved ones:
β’ Keep them indoors during peak heat (10 a.m. β 4 p.m.)
β’ Ensure fans and A/C are functioning properly
β’ Encourage plenty of water throughout the day
β’ Dress them in light, breathable clothing
β’ Watch for symptoms of heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, or confusion
πΎ Donβt forget your furry friends, too β they feel the heat just like we do!
