PEAK Youth Performance focuses on athletic and sports performance training for males & females ages 8-22 to help maximize their potential of becoming be

tter athletes and healthier people. We train all levels of athletes from those that want to keep active and maintain good health to serious high school athletes that desire getting to the next level. Led by our certified fitness and nutrition coaching, we focus on building foundational to advanced programs that promote confidence and optimal performance in ANY sport. We train athletes in many different sports including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, football, hockey, wrestling, lacrosse, track, volleyball, golf, and more...

Private and group sessions are available in addition to individualized fitness programs and nutritional consulting.

**Baseball Players Take Notice**... read below...but in-season training in ANY sport has MANY benefits. PRIORITIZE STRENGTH TRAINING all year round.

Training in-season is a must

PMID: 39495235

This study examined how removing strength training from an 8-week fall season impacted NCAA Division I pitchers. Twelve athletes followed a structured throwing program but had no access to weight training. Researchers measured ball velocity, arm slot angle, arm velocity, and elbow torque before and after the season.

📉 Key Findings:

➡️ Ball velocity significantly decreased (~6.3 mph drop, p < 0.001)

➡️ No significant changes in arm slot, arm velocity, or elbow torque (p > 0.05)

Despite maintaining a consistent throwing program, pitchers lost velocity without resistance training.

⚠️ Limitations:

➡️ Study only analyzed fastballs—other pitch types were not examined.

➡️ Small sample size (12 pitchers).

➡️ No comparison group that trained with resistance AND threw, which would have shown if they maintained or improved velocity during the same period.

While the final limitations does really hinder the power of this study - I did still find it alarming that they lost 6.3mph on average.
