May Eye Care is proud to announce the opening of Cherry Tree Surgical Center in Hanover. U.S. Congressman Lloyd Smucker joined York County Commissioner Julie Wheeler and other community leaders to celebrate the opening of a new state-of-the-art surgical center that focuses specifically on Cataract and other eye surgeries.

Cherry Tree Surgical Center is a 5,500 square foot surgical center specifically designed for eye surgeries and is led by Dr. Carl May of May Eye Care. The new center specializes in bringing leading edge technology with new surgical equipment and surgical techniques to residents of central PA. In addition to Cataract surgery, Cherry Tree will offer LASIK and a variety of Glaucoma procedures.

Cataract surgery is the most common surgical procedure in the United States and is performed on more than 26 million people each year. Treating Cataracts is also proven to reduce the risk of dementia and falls for older patients.

All of the staff is friendly, professional and helpful. The wait time is minimal considering the number of patients being treated. Dr. Lampkin performed my cataract surgery with the standard (non laser) method. He was exceptional! I told him he gave me new eyes!

He's an excellent cataract surgeon.. The surgery was very easy to handle. I had no problems at all after surgery. I had excellent results and can see much clearer. It's amazing how the whole process was easy peasy. I'm glad I had him do my surgery. Thank you so much.
