🌟 DSP MONDAY SPOTLIGHT 🌟
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Todd Foster from our Western Region!

Todd lives in Bridgeville, just south of Pittsburgh, and has been part of the Focus family for almost one year. When he’s not supporting individuals, Todd enjoys seeing movies, reading books on metaphysics and spirituality, and spending time at his camp.

One of Todd’s most meaningful Focus memories involves supporting an individual who experienced significant anxiety that made being out in the community very difficult. Through patience, consistency, and encouragement, Todd helped this individual overcome much of that anxiety. They not only began to enjoy community outings, but also requested more hours and recently shared their excitement about feeling ready to pursue a job.

Todd is proud of all the progress his individuals have made and feels honored to be part of their lives. His dedication and compassion are a perfect example of what it means to be a DSP at Focus.

🌟DSP Monday Spotlight: Rebecca Lauper🌟

Rebecca Lauper is one of our amazing DSPs in the Western Region. She lives in Greensburg and enjoys spending her free time swimming, hiking, and photography.

Her favorite Focus memory is the prom. Everyone looked so nice, the decorations were beautiful, the food was great, and it was special to watch everyone having such a good time.

Thank you, Rebecca, for all that you do and for being such a valued part of the Focus family.

Story Sunday 🤍

This week’s story comes from one of our dedicated team members and highlights why this work matters so much. Bob and his support staff started the day by creating a grocery list, getting ready, and heading to the store. Bob did a great job sticking to his list and making thoughtful choices independently.

While shopping, Bob shared that his feet and back were bothering him. Taking time to listen, staff helped him find a place to rest so he could continue at his own pace. Comfort and dignity always come before rushing through a task.

Being out in the community gave Bob the opportunity to practice everyday skills, and back at his condo, they worked together to prepare sheet pan chicken thighs, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. With a little prompting, Bob stayed involved from start to finish. There was laughter, teamwork, and a meal Bob could be proud of.
Bob ended the day with a full stomach and a big smile. These moments remind us how important patience, compassion, and supporting independence truly are.

💙 Focus Family Helping Focus Family ❄️

When one of our own needed a hand, our village showed up. Stephanie Vogt and Shannon Kowalski recruited some pretty amazing helpers. Jesse, Elisabeth, and Wyatt stepped up to assist Focus staff by shoveling out a fellow team member who was snowed in and unable to shovel on their own.

This is what Focus is all about. Community, compassion, and showing up for each other no matter the weather. So proud of these kids for lending a hand and making a big difference. 💪⛄️

🌟 Meet the DSP Monday: Adrienne Wilson 🌟

Adrienne Wilson is a Direct Support Professional serving our Central Region. She’s originally from Dundalk, MD and has been living in New Freedom, PA for the past 8 years.

Adrienne has a big heart for animals and unique hobbies — she loves animals and bugs and even collects tarantulas and spiders! At home, she has 5 birds, 3 cats, and 2 chihuahuas.

One of Adrienne’s favorite memories as a DSP is spending time with an individual who loves Halloween and Christmas. From laughing together at Spirit Halloween to watching his excitement while meeting Santa at Bass Pro Shops, these moments of joy and connection are what make her work so meaningful.
We’re grateful to have Adrienne on our team and thankful for the care and dedication she brings every day 💙
