Many symptoms of Lyme disease and common co-infections don’t always present in obvious ways.
Things like:
• muscle twitching
• wandering joint pain
• alcohol intolerance
• heart palpitations or tachycardia
• insomnia
• night sweats
can often be overlooked or treated in isolation.
In areas like Massachusetts where Lyme is endemic, it’s important to zoom out and look at the body as a whole rather than chasing individual symptoms.
Basic screening labs (like those available through Quest Diagnostics) can be a helpful starting point, but interpretation matters, and working with a Lyme-literate provider is key. More advanced testing is also available when needed.
Acupuncture can be a powerful adjunct for symptom support, helping regulate the immune system, calm the nervous system, and reduce inflammation, especially in the joints.
If you’re experiencing symptoms that don’t quite add up, it may be worth looking deeper.
