Time for a quick self care moment! Take a break from scrolling and treat yourself to this hand massage:

Hold your left hand in your right, and put your right thumb on the pad of your left palm under your pointer finger. Use your thumb to massage in circles, working your way from the inside to the outside of your palm. Next, squeeze and pinch each fingertip. Now, flip your hand and rub the top of it. Repeat on the other hand.

We were having so much fun in our first Creative Connections Fun Fridays of the summer, that we forgot to take more pics of all the action!

Our morning session played some music together, started work on their group banner, tried out an obstacle course, and cooled down with some quiet time under the stars.

The fun continued in our afternoon session with kids playing music, drumming ("Into the Unknown" from Frozen was a popular song to drum today!), starting on their own banner, and creating some musical artwork that they could play on the xylophone.

Still 5 weeks left and registration remains open through next week! Reach out to join the fun!

Do you have a student attending Summer ESY services, but need coverage on Fridays? Have them join us for a supportive 6 week summer enrichment program, led by board-certified music therapists specifically for students needing developmental support. Starting on July 11th, students can independently explore different music activities, visual arts, movement, and group games to develop skills in a fun way and connect with others (PCA/ABA therapists are always welcome). A final art show and music performance conclude the 6-week session for caregivers to enjoy.

Don't want to commit to a full set of classes? We've got a solution: Introducing our Summer Creativity Series, where students grades K-8 will be able to sign up for all or select days, depending on what sparks their imagination!

Every other Thursday this summer, there's a new theme or project, where participants will have the chance to experiment with music technology, play instruments, design unique art projects, and take part in creative games. Whether you love making beats, singing, exploring technology, or creating your own song, there's something for everyone.

July 10 - Ukulele, Makin' Beats, and More: Younger students will create an interactive โ€œmusic gardenโ€ using boomwhackers and other silly instruments and sounds. Elementary-aged participants will explore the ukulele and learn simple chords to play a song. Older students will dive into beat-making with music technology, using tools like GarageBand, Launchpad, and Soundtrap.

July 24 - Make a Music Video: Lights, camera, action! All participants will work with their group to create an original music video. We will combine music, movement, and storytelling in a fun and collaborative way.

August 7 - Songwriting Week : Younger students will retell a story through music, while elementary-aged participants will reimagine a popular song with their own creative twist. Older students will take on the challenge of writing an original song as a group.

August 21 - Mixed Media Challenge Week: Put your creativity to the test with a series of fun and wacky art, music, and movement challenges! Younger students will explore instruments, tackle an obstacle course, and design unique art projects. Elementary and older participants will take on creative challenges, adding a friendly competitive twist to music, movement, and art activities.
