Sarah Johnston is a doula in South Central Pennsylvania and the tri-states area of Maryland offering birth and postpartum support services for families of all types. Sarah is trained through DONA International. Doulas offer support in a variety of ways during the prenatal period, birth and postpartum period. Knowledgeable doulas offer evidence based information, physical support, emotional support

and help navigating day to day routines. Doulas are highly informed on a variety of subjects and trained to support you professionally. Doula support has been shown to reduce the number of cesarean births, use of pain medication, Pitocin and induction rates. Doulas have also been shown to increase satisfaction in your birth experience. Postpartum doulas also have been shown to help lower the instance and severity of postpartum depression.
