LEADING A HEALTHY INTEGRATIVE LIFESTYLE

In recovery, many people become so focused on avoiding drugs or alcohol that they sometimes ignore other aspects of maintaining their health. Many people substitute other unhealthy habits for the ones they have given up. Staying sober seems hard enough, but it is worth the extra effort to try to be healthy in other ways. When you focus on your health, you can cope with your feelings, feel energized to work on your recovery.

For people in recovery, abstaining from alcohol and drugs is paramount. However, many fill the void with caffeine and ni****ne. Both of these common substances are addictive on their own. To***co poses numerous threats to your health, and caffeine in large amounts can also have negative effects. For some, even small amounts of caffeine can worsen anxiety, insomnia, or other conditions. Other people in recovery sometimes replace substance addictions with compulsive behaviors that can also have negative impacts, such as compulsive gambling, shopping, or s*x. Some even become “workaholics.”

Instead of replacing addiction to drugs and alcohol with other compulsive habits that can harm you, such as excessive to***co and caffeine intake, you can choose what path you want to lead to improve your health.

I firmly believe that integrating a wellness-oriented lifestyle with working one's chosen recovery program can dramatically enhance the quality of sobriety enjoyed by persons recovering from addictive disorders. Unfortunately, millions of persons in recovery unwittingly short-change themselves of years, if not decades of joyful and productive living through succumbing to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and a host of other preventable illnesses associated with self-destructive lifestyle patterns. A prime prerequisite for deriving maximum benefit from recovery lies in taking charge of your health and consciously embracing a wellness lifestyle.

Curbing Ni****ne Addiction

While many people recovering from alcohol and substance use are smokers, most would like to quit. If you are struggling to free yourself from ni****ne addiction, give the A NEW BREATH program a discovery. A NEW BREATH is a method that helps you overcome the mental addiction to smoking by reprograming the thinking and behavioral patterns that keep you addicted to ni****ne. It’s a cognitive behavioral-mindfulness-based method that removes your desire to smoke by changing how you think about smoking (cognitive) and breaking the habit (behavioral) in 4 stages, during a 6 month coaching program.

A wellness-oriented lifestyle and associated benefits can be yours through incorporating these and other common sense wellness principles into your life. Remember, you don't need to attempt to instantly adopt all of these suggestions. Focus on a goal of transitioning yourself into a wellness-oriented lifestyle, one day at a time. Make pursuing health-conducive lifestyle choices a hobby and enjoy the process. To your health!

Self-care reflections as you move forward into 2025.

1. Self-love is a practice, not a destination. Self-love is an ongoing journey, not a one-time achievement; it’s something you nurture daily through small acts of kindness, compassion, and care.

2. Healing is non-linear—and that's okay. Healing doesn’t follow a straight path; there will be highs and lows, and that’s perfectly normal—each part of the process is valuable.

3. Your body is not broken, and it never was. Your body has always been whole.

4. Your body is a powerful tool, not a project to fix. Shift the focus from changing your body to appreciating what it does for you every day.

5. Healing takes time—and that’s okay. Be patient with yourself. Trust that every step, no matter how small, brings you closer to a place of greater acceptance and peace.

6. Your body is allowed to change, and so are you. You’re evolving emotionally and mentally. Embrace all the ways you are allowed to change and grow.

Quality of sleep is a natural antidote to stress!

Quality of sleep is a natural antidote to stress, and it turns out, it's a cortisol-buster too. Cortisol, the stress hormone, tends to soar when sleep is compromised.

However, embracing our restful’ s night sleep acts as your body’s reset button, helping to regulate cortisol levels.

So, make bedtime a sanctuary for your body and mind. By prioritizing good sleep, you are not just recharging for the day ahead; you are keeping cortisol and check, paving the way for a healthier and more balanced you.

Giving away an aromatherapy bundle when you book a 6 month coaching session.

Why do you need to take the time to refuel?

While most of us make certain to recharge our cell phones each evening to ensure we have enough power to last an entire day, we neglect to give ourselves this same type of attention. Too often we’re running through our lives on empty, which eventually leads to mood swings, exhaustion, adrenal fatigue, and overall cellular agitation. As we continue at this high intensity, we lose touch with what we really need to bring back the balance and feel good again. And when we’re no longer attuned to our own well-being, it’s time to refuel that soul.

Speaking from personal experience!

Cancer Awareness Month: IAM4ME Coaching Care: Today is DETOXIFICATION

There is a reason that we have four pathways of elimination and just one way for the introduction of food substances.

Detoxification is vital for the well-being of the body. Our cells, which make up all of our tissues, simply cannot thrive in an environment riddled with toxins. Much like a fish depends on quality water in a fishbowl, the cells will die if the fluid surrounding them is harmful and unable to sustain life.

Proper detoxification needs to consider that the pathways of elimination are open, these pathways include the bowel, kidney, skin, and lungs.

With cancer in particular, there are multiple factors that should be addressed. One of these is detox. It’s getting rid of everything inside of the tumor cell that helped cause the tumor cell to begin with.

We are bombarded by both emotional and physical toxins every single day. Everywhere from stress raising your Cortisol levels and lowering your immune system to the harmful toxins contaminating our water and environment, and in our foods; things like heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, and more.

All of these things are in the tumor, and they’re altering the frequencies inside of the tumor as well as altering the structured water in tumors. Structured water is a hexagonal form of water, it’s the purest form of water there is.

This is how vital the eliminatory pathways are. When they are open and flowing appropriately, we can accelerate the liver’s ability to process toxins, as well as lymphatic drainage and intracellular detoxification.

Signs that the pathways are not open include:
• Constipation
• Eczema or other skin issues
• Asthma or other respiratory concerns
• And urine that is almost completely clear, even when drinking only a modest amount of water
